For a team like the Knicks this doesn’t make sense.

Kilian tillie seems more intriguing. High iq, can play both PF/C, good passer has the skill to play inside or outside. (40 percent from downtown) And plays with more of a vet mentality. He just needs to stay healthy

I'm into drafting Tillie too but I don't think Azubuikie would be a bad grab with a second round pick. We definitely could use another rim protector when Mitch isn't playing. Tillie averages 1.2 blocks a game compared to Azbuikie's 3.2. You just see how far our defense falls off when mitch is on the bench with all these power forwards we play at the 5. I think Jalen Smith might be someone to watch for too with our late first. He can shoot threes(36.8%) and averages 2.7 blocks a game.

He wouldn’t be a bad grab he just doesn’t improve us on offense other thAn more scoring in the paint. We lack perimeter shooting and we are the worst free throw shooting team in the league. He offers neither thing In either category. I agree on the defense part though

Jalen Smith is another guy I like.

I prefer tillie though. He’s been a good team player and good shooting big man all 4 seasons at Gonzaga. 44% from 3 for his career is no fluke. What I like most is he is more of an experienced player and has been around a winning culture for awhile now. He should be able to contribute and find a NBA role day 1

Right now Tankathon has him third going to the Wolves. Don't get me wrong, I like him a lot but I wonder how much of his rise is due to one of those search for the next guy that's an all star in the league already. Everybody wants to find the next Luka now, just like KP getting Bender drafted in the lottery. IMO he's more of a Jewish Gallo, not the next Luka.

gallo was not as fluid as this kid appears to be at such a young age. i don't think he's the next luka, but he'd be an intriguing wing to pair with RJ. if he was BPA i'd be happy to take him

He's a little bit of plodder and would probably struggle on the perimeter but that's probably why he's a late first/ early to mid second. Kansas doesn't even really use that much in PNR either, he just towers over everyone. FWIW he did out play Toppin back in the Maui Invitational at the beginning of the year.

Call me crazy but I’m starting to really like Markus Howard in the second round. But the kid can shoot lights out. Not sure defensive really matters. If trey young can start for a team why not Markus.

I’m high on Hayes though not sure who I’d want between him or lamelo. I like both, lamelo might have more star potential while Hayes seems a safer and more well rounded player with better shooting numbers.

And how might you be acquiring another mid lotto pick to accomplish that? You can def get one, but a collection of late firsts rarely get you back into the lotto these days without attaching some sort of tangible talent that's played a game in the NBA. AKA, I think it would cost Mitch and a pick at least to get back into the lotto. Knox, Frank, DSJ....they don't have the juice to attach to a pick to make that happen. I'm not really sure Mitch does either, but at very least, that would be the starting cost. The biggest problem for NY to jump back in the lottery, assuming they pick around 5-8, Haliburton and Toppin are in the same tier. If you look at all those teams sitting next to the Knicks in those draft slots, they need their pick in a big way. Wiz, Hornets, Bulls, Detroit. Those teams can't get FA to come, they have to draft and hit on their picks. NY doesn't get FA either, but they at least have the city as somewhat of a sell to guys. But I just think to pry away a lotto pick from one of those teams, is going to cost more than the Knicks would want to afford.

This would be pretty great. If there's a team that wants to trade out of the top 10, then we could offer Knox + the LAC 1st rounder or DSJ + the LAC 1st rounder + a future 2nd rounder + cash. There are way to get creative if a team wants to trade out and there's always teams that trade down from the top 14. Even if it's LAC 1st + Dallas 2023 protected 1st + two 2nd rounders + cash or something like that, you pull the trigger if you're getting someone you really believe in.

That youth line-up with a developmental coach would be so much fun to watch.

This draft reminds me a lot of the 2013 draft and Edwards me a little bit of Ben McLemore. It's not a spot on analogy but Edwards tendency of being a bit of an inefficient chucker has me worried. The Wiseman thing is really just because the Knicks don't need a big. Toppin with his jumper probably has a better chance of fitting with Mitch than us bringing in Wiseman. I'm a big fan of RJ but Mitch is definitely our best prospect.
