Anyone here thinking on having Atkinson's turning this team around next year? He did it with much less to work with for the Nets, I mean... who knows? Miss the Nash years with winning records and all
Also: Greetings from Brazil
I don't see the Suns firing Monty Williams.
He signed a five year contract and on a relatively high salary. There are not official numbers about the money, but that was the rumor at the moment of the signing.
And we have improved a lot this season with Monty. The last four seasons we were beyond terrible, we were the laughingstock of the league. But we are competitive this year and we have a decent record (26W -39L)...so we are on the right track.
I like Atkinson a lot, but it's not the best moment for another change.
I can't really give a lot of credit to Monty on the improvements
We added a solid starting PG(last year had 0), Bridges Improved, got Saric, a starting PF(even if not that great), Baynes whom as a starter won us many games.
Those are big changes, that by default would improve this team record, I actually feel like this team underachieved, and had some concerns with the game plan.
That being said, forgot that Montys contract was 5 years, that means he'll be around for next year at least. Igor's contract was a 3 year one but that didn't really stop McD to change ONCE AGAIN.
Honestly, Keeping Monty for half of that contract would be a surprise, considering the track record
