Hopefully this is part of a broader wakeup call that will shock everyone into collective sacrifice and action.

Rudy Gobert will almost certainly recover. God knows how many will not.
Breaking News: In a shocking development, Wizards owner Ted Leonsis has sold the NBA franchise to a consortium of participants in a discussion board devoted to the team on realgm.com. Details to follow....

And which team did the Jazz play last?
These precautions are necessary now, if this is to be stopped from turning into a pandemic in the USA.

China was doing 200,000 test/day. CNN Dr Gupta just shared that there were 8 tests by Federal Agency yesterday.

We are way too slow on this, we need to be more like the NBA.

If you are < 60-ish years of age, AND are healthy, then your chances are pretty good at surviving the virus, IF you catch it.
If you are > 60-ish OR are in poor health, then your chances are about 1 in 6 at surviving the virus, IF you catch it.
What is bad about this virus, among a few bad things, is that it can spread easily. Hence, the need to not provide environments where the spread can easily happen.

I think this might have been engineered, it's perhaps man made.

Wow, this is so much more than basketball. For some reason, something like this happening never clicked in my mind. It's hard to say how this is changing our lives, but this is the start. It's hard to digest. God bless Adam Silver - I have no idea what I'd do in his shoes.

Crazy - Gobert himself said he felt well enough to play.

Oh stop. No. Nature tries every door that’s all. MERS, SARS, H1N1— every few years there’s a new alteration of a previously existing pathogen. The only thing is now we hear about it quicker. And anxiety can become pandemic before the virus ever does.

Also as there are more people than ever and as the world is more connected by flights and shipping etc. we are in more contact with far flung parts of the world so any successfully virulent new strain can spread farther and faster before we develop herd immunity from antibodies etc.

Anyway nowadays evil operates right out in the open. What’s the point of hidden conspiracies? You might as well advertise directly and brand your virus.

Another month of rest for Wall

Lets say in a month they finish off an abridged version of the rest of the season, before launching into an abridged playoff series (best of 5)...

We're in 9th spot and 6 games back... In that scenario what do you think the chances are he returns to the court and we make a push? Try and catch some teams off guard in the playoffs?

Well, in fairness, we took Mike Pence off their hands. Taking back Mahinmi is the least they can do.

The nutritional health practitioner to whom I’m related by marriage says, these things should help:

-big bottle of vitamin c
-Wild thyme, you can get it on amazon or in any Ethiopian market
- turmeric supplement or powder (also in Ethiopian or Indian market)
- ginger fresh or tea or powder (also in Ethiopian or Indian market)
- regular mucinex or guafenicin not long acting or you can get both
- eucalyptus or ravintsara essential oil
- ibuprofen
- Carlson Aces + zinc or another vitamin with all of those or separately. Zinc is key.
-selenium or Brazil nuts toasted

Only take elderberry or echinacea if you have no cold or flu symptoms. At the moment you have them, stop taking them and start vitamin c loading

Good old vitamin c and fluids, prove helpful, as always.

Gotta ask - should the college basketball season be cancelled - just as we're about to go to tournament time? Or should the games be played with empty stands?

Got most of that, although I could hit the Ethiopian market again, get some berbere powder. Homemade stew for a month!

Everyone over 60, say goodbye, according to someone in this thread somewhere. Probably not, but doc's advice and limiting public interaction seems prudent.

With so much information on the internet, for your own well being, vet your research as if you need to persuade a stone faced skeptic (professor, judge, PIF, nate33) of the accuracy, relevance, and interrelationship of your sources.

I think now, looking back at my years of Bullets/Wizards fandom, how many times the words "NBA Season Suspended Indefinitely" would have sounded like words of mercy.

Donovan Mitchell now has it, too. This is scary.
