But the thing is, there's a shortage of test kits. So if you get tested, someone who more definitely needs to be tested maybe can't get tested. It's part of the problem right now.

As a nation, how well are we prepared do you guys think for this virus, or any disaster for that matter. I feel as if some powerful nation was to attack our homeland all hell would break loose. If people are fighting for toilet paper imagine what they would do for a loaf of bread.

This needs to teach every nation to be ready and prepare if something horrible was going to happen.

Smart move to cancel the season. People wouldn't have willingly stopped going to games they paid for for a number of reasons including $, pride, etc. And it's just not worth the risk.

I cancelled a trip a few days ago (Sun) to take my Mom to see my sister and kids (long x-country flight) next week. Kinda had to talk her out of it and felt a little bad. Everything since has made me extremely glad I did. Not just for her health (she's 75), but I didn't want to be part of the problem travelling around and possibly spreading it.

Yeah I don’t think I have it, from that, but with asymptomatic infection and the difficulty in getting a test done, it seems like it makes sense for everyone to self-quarantine..

The US is less-equipped than almost any nation on Earth, at least among ones that have running water to (almost) all of its citizens. There is no testing, testing will be expensive when it arrives, and thus no one will get it done until they are showing advanced symptoms. The Senate just blocked an emergency bill that would allow for paid sicktime to government workers (what a bunch of **** dickheads, if you vote for any of these ****, just put me on ignore). If it gets bad, a lot of people are completely ****.

If South Korea is the Mavs, Celtics or Clippers - a professional, healthy and well-run organization - America is like the Bulls or Kings, making bad decisions and unable to get its act together - and our best hopes are Hail Mary plays like the Heat or Lakers’... we need to get on the right track like the Grizzlies or Pelicans or we’re going to end up like the Knicks

To illustrate this, the next time you use a public restroom, pay attention to how many folks don't wash their hands after they have used the toilet/urinal.
Society is nasty.

Tell me about it. I work for immigration and we have to deal with the public. On Saturday, I granted permanent residence to someone who had just returned from a high risk country 2 days prior. I couldn't believe it. Dude strolled in wearing a mask, took it off when he was talking to me, and then put it back on after he left. I was pissed. Had to disinfect the whole area, threw away the pen he touched, wore latex gloves for the rest of the day, etc. Scary times.

I still think the season will continue in about 2 or 3 weeks or so. Still cannot see them shutting the entire thing down

I highly doubt the season will continue within 2-3 weeks.

We are just at the beginning of this pandemic...let`s hope in 2 months things will settle down and life will return to “normal” again…NBA will certainly not be back in 2-3 weeks…

I figure in another month they will have an antidote? or an effective treatment created and mass produced.

Maybe 2021. Perhaps they'll have some experimental vaccine in testing shortly, but not scalabl for mass distribution. This is not a 2-3 week thing we're dealing with. It's been in the US for 2 months now and we just starting doing anything about it.

add another zero to that month and you're still talking about an extremely optimistic timeline
