It’s insane March madness is cancelled and there’s still people saying it’s not big deal. Just crazy ignorance.

It's already been in this country for two months at the very least. Probably longer since who even is capable of administering a test for it in the US?

Here's a great article about how every day counts. Well, w e're on day like 60 before anything was meaningfully done about it.

https://medium.com/@tomaspueyo/coronavirus-act-today-or-people-will-die-f4d3d9cd99ca

It's a long read, but what else are you guys doing?

I was scanning this thread to see if the article had already been posted. All you need to know is there, including how to interpret the numbers (this part is kind of scary). Long read, but can't think of any long reads more worthy that this piece. I hope the leaders of the world are reading, the sooner the better. Each day counts, as the article shows.

So just hit my city , I'm isolated all the time anyway, but kids seem to be lowest risk which is odd for a natural virus. This state tested 48 and over half had it. Elderberry or gojo any blue colored berrys, garlic tumeric and hate to advocate but pot is seeing strong usage with caring results. We can add 2020 to the other 1920,1820,1720,1620 hundred year pandemic, however it looks as if the death rate is only hurting 60+ and people with pre-existing conditions. I still think this isn't as bad as media is projecting it to be. Be safe out there also basic flu is bad this year already 4,000+ deaths.

My guess is an aborted playoffs in late July/early August. At least I hope we're to a point where that is advisable. Their next year is at serious risk, too, until a vaccine is available, maybe in the spring. So I'm guessing it will be a shortened season next year too.

Maybe now is a good time, which has been discussed, to shift the months of the season. From say February to September.

I kind of like the schedule as it is. But I get set in my ways. And yeah, I could see that fitting the next 12 months or so. Then if it worked they could keep it.

After basketball ends there is just baseball which is about as much fun as eating ice cubes for desert. Haveing hoop in the summer would be great.

If basketball goes until August then less than a month later football starts. When that winds down basketball season is ready to start again.

Late-stage capitalism that we even need rich people to donate money for **** that almost any other civilized country allows for in its budget. Every time I see one of these supposed uplifting stories of someone donating a bunch of money for healthcare/paying off student loans/etc, it's just gross that it even needs to be done. I mean, great for Kevin Love and these handful of people receiving money from him, but what of the millions of people who don't have some rich guy on their side donating money?

Just a reminder that China REFUSED to allow the CDC into Wuhan when the virus first broke and have been using disinformation tactics feverishly since then.

Now back to your regularly scheduled misplaced anger.

It is getting crazy where I'm from. People are fighting over bottled water at Costco, toilet paper also cleaned out. People are losing their minds over this and it is embarrassing. There is no reason why anyone should be hording toilet paper, nor is there any reason to fight over bottled water when our tap water is perfectly fine.

I imagine rice & pasta will be the next to go....that's what has happened here in Aus.

I'm going to struggle to get TP for the business in the next week or so :-?

That sucks man, stay safe. This is exactly why everything needs to get shut down. People aren't going to voluntarily protect others, or may not even know they're a carrier, and now you get 18k people at risk.

Oh, gosh, I guess that takes Trump off the hook for not allowing testing in order to keep numbers down.

Or for kneecapping and gutting the CDC.

Now back to your regularly scheduled HANNITY.

People are acting like maniacs - total panic. Not rational at all.

After our prime minister just held a press conference stating that no one should panic and shouldn't hoard, people went crazy and thousands stormed out to buy literally anything. I saw in the news earlier today a clip from yesterday shortly after the announcement of a lockdown, one person had filled a trolley with only toiletpaper and paper towel. Others just went out to buy extreme amounts of food. She had just stated that we shouldn't gather in large groups - and soon after, people stood up and down at each other in supermarkets for an hour i could imagine. Queues of 25-30+ people.

I'm in actual need of toiletpaper with only a quarter of a toilet roll left - when i went to buy some stuff earlier today, all bread was sold out and the only toiletpaper left was that toiletpaper that might aswell be used as sandpaper. I'm trying my luck again tomorrow, guess the worst of panic is over by then.

Holy ****, it's out of control. I can't imagine what the headlines are going to be when we're reporting 2000 cases and 200 deaths a day here in the US.

Question for the exculpated doctor on this one: 6.7 percent fatality rate in Italy is big but not terrifying - but that's out of everyone who tests positive..

A. Is it likely the rate is lower because there are many other MIlD unconfirmed/unmeasured cases?

B. How much higher is the rate among vulnerable people? Like, if you're over 70 or over 80, is the fatality rate 20 percent?

Paraphrasing Tony Fauci, rheumatologist & immunologist, & mufti-decade Director of the NIAID @ the NIH (I met him a long time ago - one of the smartest docs of the last 50 years):
A. Yes. The denominator is more than likely very much larger.
B. Yes. Do not know the number but clearly higher >70 & very dramatically higher >80 - maybe even 15-20%.

Google Fauci & believe anything he says.

Wife got two shopping carts worth of **** today. No toilet paper or water, though. Sensible stuff like... rice and pasta. Plus a **** ton of fruits and veggies.

I went back out to get coffee, beer, booze, and firewood, just in case. Already had more weed than I'm ever gonna smoke.

I know it's now many, but the virus have really hit the sports world now. Gobert and Mitchell in the NBA and a football manager and player in the Premier League are now tested positive for the virus. When these stars gets sick they get tested immediately - meanwhile the public can go with all the symptoms and still don't get tested. Only makes you wonder how high the real number of infected are.
