Issue with most vitamins through pills is that half of the studies show they actually do not work.

After huge study in Toronto few years back results were pretty clear: there is no harm in taking vitamins through pills, however, there is no benefits either.

So... don't waste your money on pills.
Zinch is found in food: meat, seeds, nuts, milk products, eggs and dark chocolate.

And yea... for vitamin D, stay on your balcon for 15 min

Food with most zinch is sea food. But as usual, sea food also contains some not so best stuff for you, so you have to be careful.
They are using zinc to help combat the virus in south Korea.

California’s ability to test people for COVID-19, the disease caused by the new coronavirus, has been limited by incomplete test kits provided by the federal government, the state’s governor said Thursday.

So far only about 1,500 people have been tested in the state, Gov. Gavin Newsom (D) said in a press conference. While the state government has 8,000 test kits available, the kits have not all included every necessary component to actually perform the test for COVID-19, Newsom said.

“I continue to reinforce the tests are not complete, kits all do not include re-agents, chemicals, solutions that are components,” Newsom said, adding that it was “imperative” that labs get access to “all ingredients that are components of the test.”

“I’m surprised this is not more of the national conversation,” he said, adding it was analogous to going to a store and buying a printer but not having any ink to print with.

Newsom said that at the “beginning of this process,” the state did not realize the federal government’s test kits were incomplete. The issue became clear after “ambiguity” and “queries” from local labs saying they couldn’t use the kits. There have been backlogs in local labs because tests did not have all the necessary components, he said — though as of Thursday there were no reported backlogs remaining.

Well they sure sound ready......how does the federal government not provide fully working testing kits? Its almost like they are not fully prepared...

Ohio estimates that they have over 100,000 infected people. This thing has been around for months and no one knew it.

I am in no way a scientist, but I think it means isolating the virus from the other cells in the body (so for lack of a better word, identifying it), which would help enormously in terms of creating a vaccine etc as they know what to target specifically.

the same government that has $1500 hammers, and you are surprised that rushing these kits out, because the CDC said they were not ready but the president said anyone who wants to be tested could, that those kits are missing parts? anytime Trump comes to the microphone to talk about this, and adult should yank that microphone away

Yup, they came up with that due to having people that contracted it thru community spread. Then they can use that thru prior infection research and they can extrapolate, and they said its at least 100K.

I’m beginning to understand the exchanges from yesterday and how politically-motivated The attitudes on this topic actually are. It makes sense now. Carry on fellas. Good luck to all.

That is a very easy way to avoid saying “I still don’t understand what is happening and have no interest in trying to educate myself”

That's funny because I knew your political leanings immediately from your first post. You share the same verbage. Its far too coincidental for a large group to all say the same thing, clearly you are getting these talking points from somewhere else. I don't want to fight about it, but I certainly understood your "media" problem from the very beginning. Instead of hearing anyone else's opinion, just do your own research on the subject and see how it navigates through your own filter, don't use someone else's. Here is a thought for you however, what if people have political motivations based on the facts they have assimilated, rather than have their facts structured based on their political motivations? Meaning, there was no need to come back and take a veiled shot at anyone having political bias, when clearly you have it in spades, right?

If you can't criticize what is clearly a botched response to such a major issue then you are going out of your way to do so.

Agreed. I take shots at Trump from time to time on this board but I don't recall seeing anything 'political' in this discussion.

What would be the difference if we were testing people for the Common Cold/ FLU? If Rudy Gobert and Donovan Mitchell tested positive for the Common Cold/ FLU, Would we still be postposting the regular season of the NBA and the other sports following suit? There's this talk in the past about this player is out for today's game or tomorrow's game because he has flu like symptoms because nobody gets tested for the Cold/ FLU so the games are not postponed/ cancelled? This don't make sense because the corona virus has the symptoms as the Cold/FLU.

To address the several responses—I have actually been sifting through whatever information I could find from credible sources like healthline or CDC and interpreting/scrutinizing that info as I read it. I’mnot out here asking Hannity or Carlson for their takes on the topic simply because I question the context and scope of the information out there.

I’m not here to talk about “snowflakes” or “fake news” or whatever. That has nothing to do with this.

What I’m seeing today are posts about how hard it must be to be in a red state and Trump this or that—bringing gun control issues and the Afghanistan war into this discussion. It’s obvious.

Add to that, all of a sudden everyone “knows” my political affiliation now based on my scrutiny of data presented and wow is that not a defensive political response. I even stated that I was shocked at the CDC testing and how that directly falls under the purview of the Executive Branch. Lol

Spinedoc, I’m not referring to you at all so relax. You and I had a good exchange at the end there.

Tide, same thing.

As to others that turned this into a personal attack sesh and a “I’m smarter than you because I do numbers” interaction, you guys enjoy the panic parade.

I’m the one bringing backwards politics into this?

I’m not very good at embedding things but read through the last maybe 3 pages. The tweet regarding gun control/Afghanistan and Iraq wars, followed by comments regarding the plight of being in a “red state”. I didn’t make it up.
