NBA Won't Fine Or Suspend Rudy Gobert For Actions Leading Up To COVID-19 Test

Post#1 » by RealGM Wiretap » Fri Mar 13, 2020 3:12 am

The NBA will not fine or suspend Rudy Gobert for his actions leading up to testing positive for COVID-19, sources tell Chris Haynes of Yahoo! Sports.

Gobert was the first player to test positive for the virus on Wednesday and was followed by Donovan Mitchell. Mitchell's locker is next to Gobert.

Gobert reportedly ignored directives from the NBA not to touch other players. Gobert also playfully touched the microphones of media members at the conclusion of an interview this week.

You do NOT get infected by touching.

Repeat: You do NOT get infected by touching.

Stop listening to what any average Joe and their sheeps say. Listen to real experts. You get infected by COVID-19 through air, just by having somebody breath next to you. This whole wash your hands propaganda is not more valid than it is for any regular day. Washing your hands is good for you, but don't expect to not catch COVID-19 because of it. And yes you can touch people, if you truly want to spare them, just don't get next to them.

Geez, everybody get informed please.

You know the “real experts” such as doctors with years of medical experience and CDC experts and World Health experts all say that to prevent coronavirus, people should wash hands frequently and avoid touching their face right?

So yeah, I would say washing hands and avoiding touching others as much as you can helps prevent the virus.....

I agree with the decision not to discipline him, Maybe this whole situation is enough to make him grow up. For normal people this would be enough, but then again he is a Stooge

Crazy that this is even a article or topic. You PLAY BASKETBALL together... share a locker room, work out, share a bathroom and with a basketball that gets passed around to everyone. It’s like saying we should fine every player that gets the flu and passes it to another player. This is ridiculous!! :banghead:

Please stop spreading this misinformation. The live virus just needs an entry way to your body. One way is through inhaling it. The other way is by getting it in your mouth, eyes, nose etc by physically touching it. It can live on surfaces like skin for many hours, so wash your hands frequently to minimize the risk of touching it and contaminating yourself. There is reason they disinfect whole buildings if they find an infected person has used them.

Not true. Go listen to Michael Osterholm, public-health scientist and a biosecurity and infectious-disease expert, on Joe Rogan. Then go ahead and say he's wrong, geniuses.

COVID 19 is a virus, which means outside of the body and bodily fluids it has a short life, but the life is longer if on surface.
None the less, if someone coughs on their hand, then shakes you hand, then you gasp and put your hand over your mouth, Bam infected.

You both are right, it is not spread through contact, but through bodily fluids (such as the small amount of water exhaled when breathing)
So you can contract it by someone breathing on you, or coughing into their hand then surface to surface, to entry point.
Washing your hands regularly limits the risk of the virus living on your hands for an extended period, thus limiting transmition.

But the only way to ensure you don’t get it is to become a hermit and not talk or associate to anyone.
After your first, you change, you mature, you dont just jump into things.

After getting dunked on for the first time, life becomes complex.

That's my point. Hand washing and body hygene is important, coronavirus or not. But if you get in a room close enough to infected people, it won't matter if you washed your hands a thousand times, chances are you will contract the virus because you breathed the same air as them.

I work in an open plan office, and upper hierarchy is on our asses all day telling us to wash our hands and use hydroalcoholic gel as much as possible. This is hypocrisy and/or stupidity at its best. The REAL AND ONLY solution would be to let us work at home because as soon as one infected person walks into that closed space and spend the afternoon, hydroalcoholic gel won't do crap for anybody around.

So yes people should wash their hands, obviously. But no, it won't keep you from getting the virus.

Damn you guys are so predictable. I was waiting for that answer.

No I don't take anything from JRE as the gospel. No I'm not a Joe Rogan fanboy. I'm a cautious individual who took the time to listen to the entire interview, do some research on Osterholm and find out that he's as credible as they come and an authority in his field. I'm legitimately trying to find the most true information about the situation because, breaking news, mainstream media is feeding us crap for headlines.

LOL
