OT: Democratic Primary Thread

Post#1 » by Stannis » Fri Mar 13, 2020 11:48 pm

Since the Corona thread is pretty much about the primary, I thought we should give this a shot.

Let's only discuss whatever is left of the democratic primary.

Please do not derail the thread; and most importantly, let's not turn this into a Trump thread.

This is not an all things political thread. Once again, this is only about the Democratic Primary and Biden V. Sanders V. Gabbard (yes, she's still in).

Re: some points in the previous thread:

Bloomberg also didn't drop out until after Super Tues. Just like Warren. And those two had similar faring on Super Tues. So I'm not really buying that there would have been this huge rush of support for Sanders that didn't come. Both candidates had a rival to their slight right competing for vote share.

I'll likely still vote for Sanders in the OR primary. His policy platform is closest to where I want to see the country go at this time. But whereas in 2016 I do think the momentum was in his favor (I think he would have won the general election) the tide is receding for him now. I don't see a significant advantage for him vs. Biden in the generals. If anything, the country is yearning for somebody who can simply re-establish the country's institutions and that's an insider.

HAHAHA

Biden because I have no idea why, or Sanders because he's the best hope???

So this poll is a joke, right? Or did you purposely slant the answer choices against Biden and for Sanders??

Status Quo Joe aka Wall Street Joe aka The Senator from MBNA, or a Social Democrat who’s been preaching about revolting against corruption for what? 50 years? Easy choice.

Too bad big corporations and the party won’t let it happen.

Virtual means nobody is there. He turned away from the camera, but continued talking and you think that is notable? You're just trolling at this point.

And take this to the primary thread now anyway

Bernie bros are insufferable human trash. Biden has accomplished more in his one lifetime than you could in 100, and all you can talk about are his mannerisms.

They were so nice to each other in the early debates. I look forward to him telling her about their campaigning strategy.
