On a serious note, a lot of what Bernie says seems to be good for what's ailing the nation (politically, not discussing disease here). The big negative is he comes across as very dogmatic and he isn't best at getting things done with his colleagues. So would Congress ever pass any of his programs?

Joe Biden has a long history of being a good guy but having made mistakes. He's a very nice guy and as for his policies, I can say ... oh could he come to dinner? That's nice.

He does have good political connections and might be viewed by the majority as someone who could pull the country back from the precipice.

Either one would at least prevent our citizens from committing mass suicide by jumping over the cliff into a sea of orange goo.

Joe Biden got stuff done because he bends the knee to those that Bernie opposes. It seems as if he has it all wrapped up at this point. I'll get out there and vote for Bernie when NY hits but barring some miracle looks like we are not getting our once in a lifetime candidate. Biden's mental health concerns me. I think hes gonna get mollywhopped in the debates with Trump and my prediction is if Biden is the nominee, 4 more years of Trump.

Not an ardent Bernie fan but I'd like to see some of his policy come to fruition. Had Bernie not insisted on providing free healthcare to non-citizens and tuition "foregiveness" I believe we'd be looking at a Bernie nomination.

Initially, I had much of the same concerns over Bernie's ability to get legislation passed. But after seeing Trump leverage his base I'm not sure I still believe that.

After watching all the debates, I don't understand how any voter felt compelled to vote Biden over almost any of the other candidates. I felt he performed about as well as Maryanne Williamson.

Biden said he wants a woman of color

He said back in August:

“Whomever I pick, preferably it will be someone who was of color and/or a different gender, but I’m not making that commitment until I know that the person I’m dealing with I can completely and thoroughly trust as authentic and on the same page,” Biden said.

It’s not set in stone as there are other women of color (Val Demings) and he did say “and/or” color/gender, so that could be Deval Patrick, Corey Booker or someone else too.

I was pretty stoked about Warren myself. I respect her and believe in her. If you look at the debates as a whole I also thought she was the best performer. But for whatever reason it didn't translate into enough to put her into contention.

Warren probably did alter the nomination in Biden's favor by essentially knocking out Bloomberg all by herself. That cleared a path for Biden that ended up also taking Pete and Amy in its wake.

I suspect Trump will decline to debate Biden.

While I understand concerns about Biden's cognitive health, Trump's is considerably worse. He is not terribly coherent at this point. Joe may space out at times, but he's still coherent compared to Trump.

I don't get why you think Trump would crush in a debate. All of his baiting and trolling tactics have been done to death and won't have the same impact. Nobody is interested in a guy saying he's going to get the best people and do things so fast for four more years when he couldn't do that now. He vague boasts have no juice a second time around and swing voters are not going to be impressed by his ignorance and bullying.

Biden wants a person of color because most people only give a **** about Identity politics. He's also said he'd consider a Republican. maybe he can dig up strom thurmond and take him to the lazarus pit.

Jim Clyburn also said that he wants Biden to choose a woman of color 3 days ago

Clyburn urges Biden to pick black woman as running mate: 'African American women need to be rewarded' for loyalty

House Majority Whip James Clyburn (D-S.C.) urged former Vice President Joe Biden on Wednesday to pick a black woman as his running mate to "reward" them for loyalty to the Democratic Party if he is its presidential nominee.

Clyburn, who endorsed Biden ahead of his South Carolina primary win late last month, told NPR, "I really believe that we've reached a point in this country where African American women need to be rewarded for the loyalty that they've given to this party."

He named a number of black women who he thinks would be good choices to share a ticket with Biden, including Sen. Kamala Harris (D-Calif.) and Georgia Democratic gubernatorial nominee and voting rights activist Stacey Abrams.

Clyburn also mentioned Democratic Reps. Marcia Fudge (Ohio), Val Demings (Fla.) and Karen Bass (Calif.) as potential choices, as well as Atlanta Mayor Keisha Lance Bottoms.

Betting odds have been decent indicators in the past, scroll down to Democratic VP candidate

https://www.fastcompany.com/90475947/who-would-joe-biden-pick-as-his-running-mate-betting-markets-are-abuzz-with-likely-vps
Did you know that online betting markets are often fairly accurate at predicting political results? They are. It’s called “politics futures.” Now that former Vice President Joe Biden has pulled farther ahead in the Democratic primaries this week, premier gambling sites have strong odds on who the ultimate nominee’s running mate would be.

Below are the probabilities for each would-be pick from two markets, Ladbrokes and BetOnline, which put Kamala Harris and Amy Klobuchar in a dead heat, with Stacey Abrams hot on their tails:

Kamala Harris 2/1, 3.25/1
Amy Klobuchar 3/1, 2.75/1
Stacey Abrams 6/1, 7/1
Elizabeth Warren 12/1, 10/1
Hillary Clinton 16/1, 11/1
Pete Buttigieg 16/1, 26/1
Tammy Duckworth 16/1, 21/1
Michelle Obama 25/1, 15/1
Andrew Yang 50/1, 51/1
For those not fluent in betting odds, 2/1 means you win $2 for every $1 you bet.

Before you bet on Kamala Harris, though, know that Jill Biden hinted last week that the Bidens were deeply wounded by Harris’s Miami debate attack on Biden following Harris’s long friendship with their son Beau. She called it a “punch to the gut.”

Yea I just can’t find anything about Joe himself saying it. Even if he did tho, I don’t think Kamala is a shoe in because of her attacks, and the other potential candidates that fit the bill.
