Why does it matter?

It doesn't, and I don't want to continue the pile on on Gobert but that clip of him was so stupid and just such a bad look for himself, the Jazz, and the league.

Plus theirs rumors about beef between him and Mitchell.

We can’t know for sure which player first contracted the virus, but this is exactly why we all need to be taking these precautions seriously, and why Gobert’s actions and attitude warrant criticism.

Nothing is 100% but we only have 2 choices and one of them did have symptoms long before the other. So chances are pretty good.

It doesn't matter. Yes it's possible Gobert got it from Mitchell. That doesn't change the fact it was Gobert that was the one out there acting like a fool, being irresponsible, etc. So Gobert will have to live with the backlash.

That was been way too many attempts to deflect blame away from Gobert idiotic and reckless behavior. That needs to stop, it doesn't matter who got the virus from who. All we know is Gobert acted like a fool and was extremely reckless.

Essentially Gobert was trying to downplay the significant of a very serious issue. That in of itself was problematic before he started touching everything.

Europe seemed far more infected, because they actually tested for the virus. Lately there were far more reports of US exporting than importing the virus and Mittchel is directly linked to two of the epicenters in the US, his home county and the campus he practiced while in Boston. He's a guy in his mid 20s who made a joke in an attempt to show reporters he thought the 6 feet rule thing was silly. Obviously it was dumb/wrong. I supposed that is why he apologized. His acting like an idiot in all likelihood changed nothing but people are upset because we live in a butt hurt society.

It's not about defending him so much as it is questioning how long are you going to whine about something that was bound to happen anyway after he apologized for it? It's universally agreed it was dumb, even by him.

Rudy Gobert will absolutely be remembered for it because he's going to be the poster boy for irresponsible behaviour at a time when precaution was absolutely necessary.

No and it doesn't matter. No one is (or at least, no one should) blame Gobert for contracting the virus. What people are blaming him for (and what he apologized for) is downplaying the threat level of the virus and ignoring the safety measures that were put in place to limit the spread.

To me it seems like another pile on him thread because nobody has claimed to be sure he was or wasn't. The whole patient zero concept is useless at this point because they say it is past the point of containment. And if it's for blame purposes, you can't expect people not to interact with people outside of the Utah Jazz. The "in Jazz" part of your question is useless.
