Cubs get Steve Trachsel

Post#1 » by WEFFPIM » Fri Aug 31, 2007 6:26 pm

For reliever Rocky Cherry and INF Scott Moore.

The original Doug Davis. Now, I know Trachsel is a shell of his former self, but maybe the Brewers could have at least tried to acquire him?

Interesting acquisition. We used to shell Trachsel in the late 90s during his first stint when the Brewers & Cubs had those epic battles, it's unfortunate we can't tee off on Steve for the remainder of the season.
Go Bucks!

I'm sure Melvin is talking with a lot of teams right now. Of course whoever we target has to have gone through the waiver process.

Cubs definitely going all or nothing this year. They gave up a decent pitcher in Cherry who would have been cheap for years to come.

They gave up their 7th best prospect according to Baseball America and a guy with perhaps the best name in baseball for Steve Trachsel.
