ANNOUNCEMENT

After many hours of deliberation and more PM's than I would like to count, BaF is announcing that Context has been suspended for the remainder of the season. He will no longer be in control of Detroit for his teams final 14 games. He will be able to resume control of his team when the new league season resumes in the offseason.

Also, Context has been indefinitely suspended from the discussion thread. I enjoy BaF and spend many hours each week trying to provide a fun competition for 30 people I don't know. I love basketball and love competition. For me, the best part of this game is the discussion and back and forth that happens in that thread. I enjoy the back and forth and hearing different peoples opinions on players. For 2+ years the discussion thread has been a free for all, unmoderated by our board mods, mostly because they are also participants in the game and don't want there to be any conflict of interest within the game. I let anything go in that thread and it has devolved into little basketball/BaF talk. Now it is more personal attacks which hijack the thread and turn off a majority of the other GMs limiting participation. That will no longer be tolerated by anyone. Keep the talk in the discussion thread basketball/BaF related. Anyone who attacks another poster on a personal level in that thread will face discipline from the league up to and including suspensions or removal from the game. Can't believe I have to say this with everything that is going on now but please keep it to basketball, that is why we're all here.

There will also be no more spamming the mods with PM's if you have a problem with another GM. Our mods in this game want to play and not step into every ridiculous and juvenile disagreement between rival GMs. Any GM who has an issue with another GM can bring that issue to me.

Finally, no one is permitted to share or post other GMs private communications on the public forum. All PM's are considered privileged and confidential and can not be shared with other GMs. Anyone breaking this confidentiality will be immediately suspended. Teams need to be able to hold negotiations and have the ability to communicate with other GMs without the thought that their communications are being shared. It causes to many bad feelings and causes harm to the game.

In conclusion, Context is suspended until the end of the season (the final 14 games of the 2019-20 season). He will return to his GM duties at the beginning of the next league year in June. He will no longer be allowed to participate in the discussion thread. This is an indefinite suspension due to his role in the many childish fights with multiple other GMs over the past few months which derailed that thread. He also will no longer be allowed to go to the mods with BaF problems. And finally, he will not be allowed to post private communication from other GMs. Context has agreed to all of these stipulations in order for him to remain the GM of the Pistons, remain in the game and continue to build his franchise. He is also aware that this is a final warning for him. There will be no more second chances moving forward.

With everything going on in the world right now, my mind has not been as focused on BaF as it usually is. This should be a fun competitive experience for all. Play the game and leave the rest alone. I'm too tired to be dealing with nonsense.

Also, for those interested in how Detroit will be run for the remainder of the year...I have not looked at their schedule moving forward the final 14 games. But, if they are playing a team in playoff contention (i.e. not yet eliminated) they will continue playing their current rotation. It would not be fair to those teams to have them play a different lineup now. The sim will choose the lineup for Detroit, in any game remaining on their schedule, against a team that has been eliminated.

The remaining schedule will be intense for the teams battling for a playoff berth and even for the top teams jostling for seedings and favorable matchups. By far this has been the most competitive BaF season.

As for my team, we have a very tough strength of schedule down the stretch so if Toronto gets in we will have earned it.

Derrick Rose (33 pts | 7 ast | 4 reb | 3 stl | 5-7 threes | 10-10 fts) and Bobby Portis (27 pts | 4-5 threes) really stepped up tonight with LeBron's production dipping below the recent tear he's been on. He deserved the help he got tonight.

True. That's a silver lining.

Orlando's rise has been surprising though. Don't think anyone saw that coming.

So SIM hates SF's at PG but loves C's at PG?

Cuz even LeBron and Doncic saw their teams fare better once moved off the ball.

i think it has more to do with the defensive eliment.

The SIM probably would work with LeBron at PG if you could also designate cross matchups on defense. LeBron and Luka can't stick with PG's on the defensive end and no one would expect them too in real life but the SIM doesn't differentiate that. So I think teams defenses suffer too much for it to be successful.

Yeah, I think cuz Bam has IRL playmaking attributes. Which will actually be increased further next SIM season after the IRL year he's had. He might be right up there with Jokic as a playmaking C.

I’m glad context will be reinstated in the off-season. I’m very happy about the new guidelines set to filter the negativity- Lord knows we don’t need it. To Bish (the g.o.a.t) and all those involved, thank you for the time you’ve invested into making what I believe to be a wise decision.
