House Bill passes 363-40. I'll let you all guess what party the 40 Nays came from before you click.
http://clerk.house.gov/evs/2020/roll102.xml

Senate will vote on Monday evening at the earliest for some reason.

It should pass since Trump agreed to it. Mitch wouldn't want to do anything to piss off his cult leader

Yeah. Personally I don't know if the company I work for could survive an extended shut down period. I'm American but live in Australia and things aren't has bad down here right now. Most of what we do involves sending contractors and technicians into people's homes, places of work and public spaces. We started to screen for any possible contact with the infection with precalls prior to attendance weeks ago because of how monumentally **** we'd be if one of our sub contractors gets infected and spreads this around. We've already had to cancel a couple jobs because of people being infected, having contact with the infected or travelling overseas to one of the red zones recently.

Tsai and Cuban were proactive. I give them a ton of props for actually giving a ****. Some other teams owners did not and the players had to step in which is an embarrassment.

Case in point: Zion, a 19 year old rookie, offering to pay the salaries of arena employees when Gayle Benson, who is a billionaire, does nothing to help.

Trash.

How do you know Gayle Benson has done nothing to help? Not everyone has to issue a press release or tweet for every good deed.

Very true, but if she was doing something why is Zion out in front of her on it?

Either way I don't have faith in someone who uses her NFL team's resources to help an archdiocese cover up their pedophile sex crimes.

Unfortunately my job is outdoors. I'm hoping they give us hazardous pay or a bonus.

Schools in NYC is shut down for a month. So is movie theaters, events etc.. restaurants are only doing take out and delivery. Looks like the city is shutting down soon. My job will be the last to react tho sadly. I work for the city BTW.

I'm going to start working from home. Hate to say it but this is the first time I'm glad to not be still living in the US. Lots of anxiety down here in Australia but 10x fewer confirmed cases and a much better government response. If only I had my guns still.

That's rough, hopefully being outdoors and keeping distance will keep you alright...I work indoors but I had to come into the office because they are staggering our shifts, so I'll be work from home wednesday and thursday. I'm hoping that the governor here in NJ gets off his ass and calls for a shut down because I really would prefer to be at home where the risk of infection is minimal. This weekend I only went out in regards to food and water. I'm in the office and every time someone coughs I'm just like :nonono:

I think everything should be shut down aside from essential functions. Keep the grocery stores, liquor stores (trust me, you don't want to shut down the liquor stores), and food places that offer takeout or delivery open and close everything else. People are acting really stupid right now going out to bars, movie theaters and restaurants. In Italy they were doing that two weeks ago and now look. :noway:

Yeah I'm hoping to be working from home ASAP.

Be glad you're not here. This is going to be an absolute **** show, Trump has totally botched this and none of us can get tested even if we're showing symptoms.

It's shocking how badly Trump administration has handled this situation. Might cost him re-election.

It's ridiculous that we don't have free testing kits already and aren't giving funds to hospitals to stock up on ventilators, ICUS, etc.

This is the problem with monetizing the health care system, it's money/profit driven and not health driven as it should be.

I hope this is a wake up call to our political system but also to millions of people that still live with 20th century mentality.

The health care industry, similar to the education sector, SHOULD NOT be profit driven.

They are too crucial for human well-being to let greedy **** dictate how those systems function.

I think this virus is going to bring about some unintended consequences in not only Medicare expansion but also a serious look at UBI. hell, Mitt Romney of all people proposed that people start receiving $1000 a month to help out while the virus runs its course, because we have no idea how long this will last.

You should be fine outdoors. Indoors is far riskier, as you have recirculating air, many contact surfaces, etc. They're doing studies & there's belief/hope that it could be seasonably affected like the flu. Supposedly humidity is believed to be the biggest factor when it comes to the seasonality. These viruses do not do well in moist, warm air. They thrive in the dried out heated air indoors. One of many concerns is that it does wane in the spring & return in the fall.

At the end of the day, it's expected that 70+% of the population will get it eventually. There's hope/belief that once you get the virus, your immune to getting it again this season. There are some reports of people who have tested positive, then negative & then positive again. It's unknown how good their immune systems were. Assuming that you do at least have short-term immunity after getting over the virus, it makes you wonder if the ideal scenario would be to extremely isolate the high risk population (& those that care for them), while expediting the spread & recovery among people that are healthy enough to recover on their own.

Unbelievable . Italy see how did that worked out. You know some hospitals turning visitors away now. I heard that from my mom who's nurse.

How bad is it back home right now? I'd ask my family but I don't want them to be stressed out.

Return to Brooklyn Nets
