As for the draft that year, I recall it was reported Knox wowed them in a workout or something, but he likely was their safe pick all the long.
That's not all true. Before reports came out that the Knicks liked him after their workout his stock was dropping like a rock and he was outside the lotto in most mocks and under SGA. I remember tons of posters, including me, saying if we did anything don't take Kevin Knox because he's nowhere near a lotto talent. He wasn't a good player in college IDK why anyone would think he'd become a good pro.
His shot was great in college for somebody his size. The issue then was he was playing in a system designed to screen for him. For most his time on the knicks Fiz was running a handoff/iso system that was complete trash.
He shot 34% from deep in college which is the same percentage he's shot in the NBA so far. His shot wasn't great, he's ass and he's always been ass.

Hmm if we draft Wiseman, we probably need to dump Randle so that would be nice.
We'd probably end up salary dumping Randle with Mitch to pick up someone like Sexton

Scottie Lewis is someone I would target with one of the Clippers picks. If he is developed correctly, he can be an all star SG imo. Knicks are terrible at developing players however so he might be better off on a different team.

You had me until the last word.
I'd rather make that package deal, get another contract back from a team if we can also land another lottery pick and end up with, say, Wiseman and Hayes.
Won't matter. Unlike last year where the team with the worst record didn't end up with the top pick (or even the 2nd pick), the Warriors will end up with the top pick. They'll take Wiseman. Then all their guys will come back healthy. Wiseman will basically complete them and they'll be back to 70 wins again.

Yes sir. Everything into account, I think he would be the best future for the Knicks. Not that he's necessarily the most talented player but from a pure everything perspective (upside just being one, but fit, form, functionality, drama free, etc.). Honestly just about everything he does just feels right lol. I really do think he may be the best for this team. Just like James Wiseman would be absolutely perfect for the Warriors. LaMelo Ball has the potential to be terrific or an absolute circus in NY. Hayes does a lot of what Ball can do but doesn't come with the drama.

What do you guys think of N’Faly Dante. Know he is a Center but he can shoot and stretch the floor. Some compare him to Embiid. Seems like he would be a good get in the 2nd round!!!

I don't think he's declaring is he? He missed a chunk of the season. But yeah absolutely. I think he was considered by some the top ranked center in the freshmen class. He's 7 feet, mobile, has arms that go for miles, very aggressive and has some ball skills.

I would do the same, this is a guy who was the 10th overall prospect out of HS and he had a rough season and fell down the draft boards. But I watched his last game against Kentucky and he had 19 pts and looked smooth. why not take a chance he's got upside. Idk about using the clippers pick though, tankathon has him going 49th so we could probably easily use the hornets 2nd

I was pretty high on him coming into the season but I realized he is a lot rawer than I expected. But he still has the tools to be really nice and he is super athletic. I would take the chance on him with a second round pick. I said Clippers pick cause I thought he was going late first round. Did not know he dropped harder lol

he still might go late first for all I know. A lot can change by the draft in September or whenever the hell it will be now

This is one of the guys I want in this draft. If he's there at 25, he a must. I'd love to replace Knox with this guy -- he'd be an upgrade in every area.
- Draft Daniel Oturu at 5. He's 20/11.5/2.5 right now and I could easily see that in the pros within 3 years. A center that does everything well/will impact all areas, offensively and defensively.
- Draft Saddiq Bey at 25 or try to hatch out a way to use 25 and another asset or two to move up the ladder a little to get him a little earlier.
- Draft Devon Dotson at 35, or again, add an asset and/or cash to move up slightly to get him a little earlier. I don't see any of the PGs expected to go top lottery in this draft as franchise altering. Dotson, meanwhile, is good value with our 2nd rounder. I think he compares favorably to Cole Anthony in a lot of ways when you compare each.
- I'd look to trim a little excess off this roster somehow -- guys that don't fit, aren't working out and don't feel long-term: any combination of Knox, Payton, DSJr., Frank, Iggy B. would all be on the table to trade, up to me. I'd love to free up some roster space for the 3 players in the draft above and one particular cost-effective FA (see below).
- Resign Daymean Dotson AND Allonzo Trier, THEN PLAY THEM next year! Another must for me. Up to me, Rose needs to mend the fence with both guys and tell them they're wanted here. Both of these guys should be locking down our SG spot for the next 10+ years. We don't have a lot of players already on the roster that could be part of the long-term solution outside of Mitch and Barrett, but i think Dotson and Trier could be as well. Just praying Rose sees this as well and can convince both guys to come back.
- Move RJ Barrett to the 3 -- this would free up the SG spot for Dot and Zo. Dot/Zo and Barrett/Saddiq Bey would be a very nice combination out on the wing. Plus, I'd like to see Barrett facing 3s on a steady basis. I don't think his offense would suffer at all and I think it may help him on D guarding slightly bigger/slightly slower players compared to most 2Gs who routinely get past him way too easily.
- Pick up Portis' option -- it's a lot of money but only for 1 final year. If I could do what I want in the draft (namely drafting Oturu), then bringing back Portis for another year to further solidify the frontline would make sense to me. Oturu, Randle, Mitch, Portis and Gibson would be a nice big man nucleus next year.
- Invite Issuf Sanon to summer league. I looked at a lot of video and like what I see. I hope the Knicks see the same and want to get a closer look in summer league. Maybe he's an option.
- If I succeeded in trimming a couple of players that don't work, I'd consider adding Gary Payton II to a cost effective deal. I don't think he'd cost much and would make for an adequate/above average bench guard overall. i still actually see a higher ceiling with him too -- what he does do well (defense, athleticism, excitement), he does extremely well. I think he'd be a real shrewd, impactful signing, esp. given the fact that he shouldn't cost too much. He could help us.
Far from a finished project, don't even know if this would be a playoff roster yet, but i think this is a good start.

Would take a chance on Lewis. Saw him play live and he was hyper focused during warmups. Bouncy dude that just needs to put it all together.
