I hope that Ward deal is backloaded with fluff. That’s a steep number if not.

Tyrann Mathieu signed a three-year, $42 million deal last year. Compared to that, this deal looks okay. This puts Ward in the area of Adrian Amos. He knows the scheme, and the coaches love him. If he can stay healthy, it should be an okay deal. If not, obviously, it will be rougher.

The deal isn't bad and knowing the 9ers they can probably bail on it pretty easily.

I still would've passed on him since he just can't stay healthy and I would've rather seen what Moore could've done with in that spot since the defense did play well when he was starting at the beginning of the season.

Though I can't deny the secondary was better when Ward was playing so it's at least one position that's not something we'd have to potentially spend draft capital addressing.

I’m very much interested in bringing in Leonard Floyd as injury insurance. Regardless, we need to add a pass rusher this offseason to fill that role

Browns are reportedly interested in Ronald Blair. Would love to have him back as a back-up/insurance policy for Dee Ford.

TE Levine Toilolo is expected to sign with the Giants.

I loved Blair, would be upset to see him go.

That's good news! Since there is no "big piece" on the horizon to make up for the loss of Buckner on the DL, it will take a combination of "little pieces". And Blair showed last year that he is pretty impactful for being a little piece/back-up.

49ers restructure RB Jerick McKinnon. Giving him another chance.

Kittle will get the biggest TE contract in league history this offseason.

IF McKinnon can get and stay healthy (a HUGE "if") and can prove to be the receiving threat out of the backfield that we had been hearing about, then this is a good move for the team. So the RB's we will have under contract so far are Mostert, McKinnon and Wilson? If so, that leaves Breida and Coleman to fight it out for one spot; my money is on Breida. Maybe Breida can buy some of the stick'em that Biletnikoff used to reduce the fumble-itis problem.

Breida just got a 2nd round tender so he'll be back.

Gotta admit this seems a bit surprising. A second-round tender? That costs over $3M/year, which seems like a lot for a RB that was behind Wilson on the depth chart for the Super Bowl on a team that is pushing up against the cap. If you are already committed to Wilson, McKinnon and Mostert, I would have thought there would be cheaper options for a RB at the bottom of the depth chart.

At least it looks like they are trying to upgrade the interior and most likely Pearson as he's far and away the weakest link in the line.

I'll be very disappointed if he ends up the starter again and it not be due to injuries.
