I’m at episode 4 of Watchmen and it’s so freaking good, way better than the movie. Need to finish the season before my kid wants to watch Frozen 2 on loop for the next 8 weeks,

If I've had Crave for say the last 17 years... is there any point in getting Netflix without a VPN to watch movies? Or is it just like it use to be and not that great.

What to people think of The Outsider? I believe it finished its run. An HBO show that has a crime/mystery element seems so intriguing to me. But I also find Stephen King really overrated and that element has turned me off.

To add to people's lists though.. some recommendations from me would be:

Dark - complete mind **** of a show. two seasons in.. three total so has an end. Watch with subtitles not with english dubbing.

Succession - well acted and there are no bad episodes. two seasons in as well.

Ozarks - Jason Bateman and Laura Linney should be all you need to know about it. But Julia Garner (who plays a character named Ruth) is amazing. About a guy that launders money for the cartel and ropes his family in.

Chernobyl - Wow. Short 5 part series about the nuclear power melt down in Russia.

True Detective - Three seasons.. each one tells its own story.. but honestly Season 1 is a must watch

Fargo - Again like True Detective.. each season is its own story, but you have to watch season 1. It's different from the movie. But similar in style. Trust me.. it's awesome.

Breaking Bad / Better Call Saul - Really slow but if you can get to Ozymandias (season 5, ep 14 of BB) it pays off in full.

It’s pretty mediocre now when it comes to movies, especially without a VPN. They do have some decent Netflix Original shows though.

Fargo, TD season 1, Chernobyl, are great shows especially Chernobyl. Breaking Bad is the goat show (GOT lost the spot cause of season 8) imo. And Stephen King is not overrated. He's written a few not so great novels but he's written a lot of great ones too. He's a prolific writer.

It's hard to argue with King fans. There are way too many plus its all subjective anyway. I just find that he blathers on so much in his books. And he doesn't know how to end a story properly. The Stand has the worst ending ever. It was pretty bad too.

I liked Stand By Me.. but it was a short story. Shining is one of his best movies, but Kubrik's version was changed radically and there is a reason for that. He made it better.

Does a non-King fan like the Outsider? Are there even any non-King fans in this forum?

Watched Contagion the other night. It should be mandatory viewing for certain World leaders.
Pandemic on Netflix was informative and at times a mix of terrifying and calming.
Seeing H1N1 patients that were only able to get half lungfuls of air per breath brought back some bad memories.

I saw Contagion last night and it's eerie how similar it is to what is going on in real life right now....only difference is that the robbing of grocery stores and gun violence hasn't started....at least in Canada gun ownership isn't common, especially compared to America.

I just finished See from Apple +. Now I'm starting servant.

See is pretty good if you liked Spartacus. Some over the top action with blind people....they actually make it work. Story is wonky but worth it

Servant is interesting so far.

On AppleTV+, The Morning Show is excellent. I just finished watching Mythic Quest and I enjoyed it a lot. Dr. Positivity gave a lot of praise to For All Mankind.

Hey, thanks for the Mythic Quest reco. Never would have found it otherwise. It's from the Sunny in Philadelphia team. Binge watching with wife as I write this.

If you look at the live cams of the malls, they are basically empty, and a lot of the big brand name stores and department stores are closed.

On what to watch, I'd say, The Expanse and Mrs Maizel on Prime, Star Trek Discovery and Star Trek Picard which I'm watching on Crave, Chernobyl on HBO (also via Crave), the ABC series Revenge when ran from 2011 to 2016 and stars Canada's Emily VanCamp. The Expanse and Star Trek Discovery are produced here in Toronto and apparently Star Trek Picard will move here for production for Season 2.

Yorkdale will close soon, as I was told by a friend in security. Once that happens, every mall will.

I've never actually read any of King's books but I generally find the adaptations of his work entertaining. I thought IT was great but that Idris Elba one was pretty bad.

I liked the Outsider but to tell the truth it kinda drags on a bit which hurts the momentum of the show. I'm not familiar with the source material so I don't know how faithful it is.

I don't subscribe to Netflix for the movies. I have it for their shows - Stranger Things, Umbrella Academy, You, Locke & Key, The Chef Show, Ugly Delicious, etc.
