Yeah agree with an off season scheme. Builds up anticipation and hey, perfect timing for Mania if you think about it. Make it seem like they're training prior to their fights ala MMA.

I admit I haven't really been following since at least the start of the outbreak. But one of our sports networks is currently showing an old WrestleMania (I think it's 32?), and nothing plucks the ol' nostalgia strings like watching the crowd mark out for Damien Sandow. I miss that guy.

Speaking of people with disdain for professional wrestling, what the hell got into Ronda Rousey?

Re: WWE General Discussion II
even if she's working, its on some Russo meta-level which frankly benefits no one and only makes the company and industry look worse, its like 2000's WCW or TNA when it was really bad around the 02-03 era and they had that Russo-Jarret angle dominating everything.

Re: WWE General Discussion II
I doubt it's a work. It's no secret that Ronda is incredibly thin-skinned. I mean, this is a woman who basically quit her MMA career because she got beat in such an embarrassing fashion. She probably expected the fans to just love her from day one and got pissed when they embraced Becky instead.

I’ve gone back and forth with Ronda. On the one hand it seems like an obvious angle, but then again Ronda is pretty much a mouth breather so who knows?

I just don't really see who it helps if it is an angle. It makes Ronda look bad but it doesn't make anyone else look good.
Which I guess is about par for the course for WWE booking these days.

Re: WWE General Discussion II
Ronda had a great rookie year but left so much on the table due to bad booking. I don’t understand them giving her the gimmick of Apollo Crews (smiling idiot babyface) rather than silent cold blooded killer. My guess would be so she could do the talk show circuits and press etc. I have to give credit where it’s due though. That first match at mania was bonkers and one of my favorite matches of all time. Perfectly executed. Kinda was all down hill from there, albeit a not very steep hill.

Re: WWE General Discussion II
Wwe network has been getting me through this quarantine. It's amazing how all of wwe's programming that isn't their actual product, is amazing. The stone cold podcasts, the edge and drew mcentyre chronicles... Watching the first HBK and undertaker match right now and man this is awesome! What a back and forth match and atmosphere. Just electric.

Yup. $9.99 is a steal. I'd pay double that every month for the content it has.

Re: WWE General Discussion II
I probably would too although I actually get it at 6.99/month shhhhh. I feel like I've seen all the features on the network but I can't get enough. If you haven't watched it, I'd recommend the top 50 incidents in ecw history that was one of my all time faves. Of recent programming, the fcw feature was pretty great too! What a collection of talent there.iMoreland wrote:spykelee wrote:Wwe network has been getting me through this quarantine. Re: WWE General Discussion II
so apparently wwe is considered essential business (and i think because they're national, AEW is as well), this of course after an $18 million donation from Linda McMahon to Trump (i'm serious by the way).
I have no idea how the hell wrestling is considered essential at all (doesn't matter which company it is), i think that goes to show that anyone who says vince cares about his workers is lying, the man only cares for money.
Especially Florida of all places where the population is incredibly old, that sounds like the potential to be Italy as is, i'm not sure WWE or AEW should be running live tv in a state that has the potential to be italy.

Re: WWE General Discussion II
You can see how miserable the majority of the talent is when you watch them on TV. Just running through the motions. I’m glad I’m not in the position of having to put my health at risk or lose opportunities at my job or just flat out losing my job.

Jesus, the essential business thing is such ****. Your country blows. And now they're cutting talent and expenses and boasting to shareholders about how well positioned they are to take advantage of the situation.
Pretty gross stuff from everyone.

We are the greatest country in the world, according to the woefully ignorant. The corruption is widely ignored because of the false flag narrative pushed by those in power, and the fact that they adhere to the lowest common denominators here.
