Do you plan on resting any of your key players down the stretch?

I would think people resting guys would only be sparingly or guys that are locked into seeding. Home field seems so important in the sim that most have to play it out.

I would still think you want to hold the #1 overall vs Denver if that series happens in the conference finals.

Oh most definitely. I’ve always kept home court advantage in mind. Especially seeing how my team has only lost 2 home games all season. That’s a great indication, and I don’t wanna mess that up.

Last night I put out a D-league lineup against Phoenix just to minimize any potential injuries. We lost by 10, and I didn’t like the feeling lol. I’ve got you on the schedule next and I’ll be playing my guys more significantly.

Oh is that how it goes? I forget lol. Either way it’s gonna be an exciting series. I’d prefer to see it as an ECF matchup. It’ll be a dog fight for sure. As DK mentioned, it would be pretty nice if those big games were somehow streamed. Playoffs are right around the corner and it’s getting more exciting by the day!

Wanted to talk about real life for a min. Is anyone deeply impacted by what's been going on? I know people have families, jobs, maybe pre-existing health conditions, etc.

Is everyone good?

If anyone is in need, maybe we can help each other out via contributions, etc.

Or sometimes it just helps to lend a good word, or offer info sharing.

I know there's a designated thread on it, but it's heavily weighted with politics. Just want to see if any fellow GMs are going through anything we may be able to assist each other with during these crazy times.

Got some not so great news today in the real world...

The program that the sim uses is not compatible with a Mac so the last few years I have been using an older laptop that we keep in our downstairs apartment where my mother lives. Unfortunately, she was told today by her doctor that no one is allowed downstairs to see her while this whole coronavirus thing is happening. Essentially, she's been quarantined because she is elderly and higher risk.

So, I won't be able to sim tonight, and maybe not for a few days. I will try and figure out a way for her to get another laptop down there to replace the one she used which has the sim on it. Once I do I can take the old one and continue running the game. But in the meantime, it looks like there maybe a few day wait before the next BaF games are simmed.

Hopefully tomorrow I will have a better idea if this will be a day, a week or possibly more, before the season can resume. I will keep everyone up to date as I know.

So far so good here. Kids are all home, oldest laid off from his job, next oldest home from college and three little ones haven't been to school all week. But wife and I still are working (which is good I guess) so as long as we are possibly exposing ourselves, no one in our household can have contact downstairs which happens to be where the laptop with the sim on it is. Doctor said my mother is fine also, not sick at all, just high risk...so obviously can't afford to put her at further at risk as long as we're working.

Something will happen in the next few days, just need a bit of time to figure it all out. Thanks for the understanding and agree, all of us will probably face this some way or another in the next few weeks. Nice to have a place to go when it does happen.

If you're interested next season in a move to basketball-gm (for example: https://i.imgur.com/2gZNKr9.png)-- it's what I use to SIM a similar thing as this and it's free, browser friendly, has a Screenshot button that automatically uploads it on imgur to save you a lot of time, plus rosters are updated to represent current year (at least the start of the year which would accurately reflect some guys better like Siakam, etc) -- but yeah, if you're interested in the offseason I can help you out, but if not obviously I'm fine with this as you're used to it. Just putting the offer out there!

also im not really sure how the gofundme is done in terms of when bish can withdraw but there is some $ there. I know in times like this every $$$ can count and for everything you do bish I think anyone who has contributed would say take that money out and use that to help the fam in whatever way.

I take care of some stuff around the house for my grandpa who is 83, so it's a totally different feeling when you live with or around elders. He's stubborn and thinks it won't affect him because he's relatively healthy for his age, but at least he's not being dismissive or stupid about it.

Not knowing how long this hiatus could be how about we pick a division each day and propose one realistic trade that you think could make each team better in that division and we could give the best proposal a nice pat on the back..
