Harrell would be a terrible signing for Atlanta.
Hawks need a quality, big combo/point guard. Someone that can run the team with Trae on the bench and play with/off Trae too.

No I believe you. I like Toppin alot. I just think at his age you gotta be careful of the Michael Beasley effect. Hes a great scorer at this level and a decent rebounder. He can step out. I just dont thibk a team looking for thier star for the next decade should be looking at him. And thats why I like him for Atlanta.
Hes got a high floor, probably will produce right away but I dont see his cieling being nuch higher. A team like Atlanta got all thier high potential in the last 3 drafts, now it might be time to get thag plug and play guy regardless of the upside. Thats not to say hes got no potebtial but hes just closer to the max than other prospects
I don't see it for Atlanta as Montrezl Harrell needs to be our top target. We need legit veterans who can play big minutes and we need to draft where FA depth is weak which for us is PG or wing.
I also believe Toppin is a lot better than you may think he is. I think he is a special prospect as an older player. He is still developing at an exceptional rate. He's the most polished prospect in this class and has very good upside. He's not the risk that Ball, Edwards or someone extreme like Wiseman is either.
Oh so you want a big jump in maturity I see. You think its time for Atlanta to exit that developmental phase and start taking on vets?......with Montres?

You could find that pretty easily though outside of the draft. Idk that you use the draft specifically to fill a need like that. I agree though that its something they could use.

To you who probably doesn't watch us play at all. To me who watched every minute and most games at least twice, he is the #1 priority.

Definitely need a quality guard, as you mention. But also need dirty-work guys like Harrell in the frontcourt. I think the guard is attainable via the draft. The frontcourt guy, not so much.

you can find a big combo guard that can defend, lead offense and play off-ball outide the draft? where? lol
that sounds exactly like Tyrese Haliburton

Right, for us though Clyde, the Knicks. Atlantas not gonna draft Hal so he can backup Trae Young. Thier top preferable choice should either be Wiseman or Edwards. If those are out of the question.........well actually when you have that record you grab best talent available but if we're talking about needs Id say those two and if they drop to 5-10 Toppin.
I just dont know that Haliburton is a good offball player, somebody can correct me but its not something thats been advertised. Im thinking Rondo with a jumper if thats possible.

Question for those who've watched: how's Obi's defense? Can he guard 4s or 5s? Offensive skillset seems interesting for the Hawks

I wish y'all would stick to teams you guys watch. Haliburton has a chance to be drafted by Atlanta. A lot more than Wiseman. That said, I see Hayes, Edwards and wings like Deni and Okoro being players we likely covet more. The issue is, we would like to trade the pick for an established player but it's unlikely considering the situation.

Jabari highest ceiling was as a Power 3 (prime Carmelo). Obi is a true PF no matter what era.... way different players. Even though I see where you’re coming from.
You want Chris Webber to be a 3 and you have James Johnson. You want James Hohnsom to be a 4 and you haven Obi

He is a lot different than Jabari Parker. His playstyle is most similar to a young Chris Webber. Parker plays an isolation heavy game which he can be effective at but he doesn't really help you win games with his style of play.

Re: Obi Toppin/Dayton Flyers
I dont see webber at all with Toppin.. Webber was bigger.. thicker and more coordinated and more athlethic..Toppin seems to need time to gather before he explodes.. and is not a lateral athlete.. He moves kind of like a late career Amare

Obi doesn't have Parker's handles, but he's a better (more willing) passer.

Jabari Parker had 2 ACL tears in the same knee... A Jabari sans ACL tears might be a lot more useful...

I think Jabari can pass, just a very erratic decision maker.

Nobody said he can't pass. Obi is clearly better though.
