Bad Gatorade wrote:My wife went to hospital with a fever, shortness of breath and incredibly bad body aches (she could barely speak/move) in general.
Her family also live with us, and her dad has had every health problem imaginable, and almost died from the flu last year.
Luckily, she got discharged and the tests revealed her to be coronavirus negative. But damn, what a fright.
Australia hasn't been hit too badly with the virus yet, and I don't think there have been any recorded cases in my suburb, but I'd love to see proper mitigation tactics in place. I work in the CBD, meaning I have a 45 minute train ride after getting to the station AND go to a busy area, yet I'm still expected to work in the office rather than home. Obviously, my wife being quarantined throws a spanner in the works here (in a good way) but still... kind of wish more was done.
At this point, we're still struggling with toilet paper availability and physical altercations at our local shopping centres.
Good luck everybody - hope we all leave this conundrum well, and sooner rather than later.
Hope she gets better soon, not the time for respiratory problems in general, but certainly glad she didn't test positive.
Here's hoping the next grocery run goes smoothly too
