Yes anyone with a lung condition will be hit extra hard by the virus.

Smokers will have a rough time with the virus as well.

What's your alternative?

Full lockdown across the country

What does that mean? Medical professionals still have to go to work right? Police have to enforce the curfews right? Lawyers have to be available for initial hearings for people arrested.

These people have to get to work somehow. That means public transit in some cases, gas stations and mechanics in others to make sure they can continue to get to work.

People need food so farmers, the people who transport the food, and the stores where we get the food have to stay open.

Information is important so we need cell towers to operate, tv stations to stay open, cable providers to continue their service.

Many of these people have children who have to be cared for while they are at work. How is that to be accomplished?

We can implement strong measures to minimize social interactions and opportunities to spread, but making everyone stay in their house for a month isn't a viable option.
Only 7 Players in NBA history have 21,000 points, 5,750 assists and 5,750 rebounds. LeBron has double those numbers.

ATTN: YOUNG & FIT PEOPLE

Virus get smarter and evolve. Got this from another forum, and it’s uh... well take a read for yourself:

https://phys.org/news/2016-07-viruses-revealed-major-driver-human.html

Viruses are smart in that as they get passed on from one person to another, they learn more and more about us. And if a virus gets passed along to a person who already has the same virus, those 2 viruses share information with each other to get stronger

If that's true and in regards to the Spanish flu, if younger people have it, and keep passing it along to other young people, then it just makes the virus much smarter and stronger and eventually able to start seriously affecting the younger people just like the 1918 Pandemic, that is a history lesson all people should be aware of when dealing with this COVID-19

If you read about the 1918 Pandemic, it started similarly in that it was fatal to the elderly until about August... then a second wave came around September and it started being fatal to people in their 20’s:

https://en.m.wikipedia.org/wiki/Spanish_flu

Remember Covid-19 is still in its infancy, but Scientists have already found that Covid-19 has evolved into a more aggressive type L strain in just a few months. And you’re hearing reports now in just the US that 38% of patients getting sick are some of the younger people now.

Trump said him and Schumer aren't far apart on agreement regarding companies using bailout money to buy stocks. He said he doesn't agree with stock buyback at all. I'm glad the white house and Dem leaders agree that that is a terrible thing. They should basically put a clause in to pull funds back or close them down permanently if they do that ****.

I believe the aggressive strain was there as early as January and has become less prevalent over time. I do agree with your general sentiment.

Not now. She had them a couple years ago. Her lungs are permanently weakened/damaged though. The partially collapsed lung too. Thanks for checking.

My father is a Doctor in NorCal, has a similar medical history, and is infected. Anyone who has, or has had, medical issues related to their respiratory system is considered extremely high-risk, given COVID-19 primarily targets the respiratory system. Even someone with a history of asthma is considered high-risk. The infection has led to him contracting pneumonia, and he has to have his lungs drained frequently. I don’t want to scare you, but your sister should be extremely precautious.

Whatever our political persuasions, what we all need more than anything is for the government and for all of us to pull and rally together right now. Fox, MSNBC, flat earther, birther, Bernie bro...doesn't matter. We all need to be responsible, kind, and smart more than we've all ever been before.

Norway

Which groups are considered to be in vital roles for society?
Administration and crisis management
Defence
Law and order
Health and care services
Rescue service
Digital security in the civilian sector
Nature and the environment
Security of supply
Water and wastewater
Financial services
Power supply
Electronic communications
Transport
Satellite-based services

Also included are pharmacy and maintenance.

Italy

You're allowed to leave your house for:
An urgent, demonstrable, work-related reason.
"Situations of need", for example to buy food and other basic necessities.
Health reasons, for instance an urgent doctor's appointment.
Returning home.

Everyone is now required to fill out a standardized form stating their reason for being outside and submit it to authorities if asked.

Spain
Only those who are lucky enough to have dogs are able to stroll the streets without having to prove that they are on an essential shopping trip.

In Madrid drones patrol the streets and blare warnings to stay at home through speakers.

In Murcia police cars canvass deserted streets and make announcements through megaphones.

Worried citizens look on from balconies, knowing they can only leave the house for essential travel to supermarkets and pharmacies - and must somehow prove that’s where they’re going - but not when the lockdown will be lifted.

Yep. It's just weird to see Trump getting along with Dems almost better than his own party right now. I guess that's a sign that both parties just want to pull together to navigate this crises. Trump messed up BAD at handling this originally. No denying he set us back some. That being said, at least now he's making tough choices and working together
