Fair enough, you are just looking at it far deeper than I intended when answering. Thoughts about Antonio Gibson?

I mean, he's a swing for the fences guy late in the draft? He's not a WR, he's not wholly a RB, he's an athlete that needs a lot of developing to become a full time contributor at either. You draft him and hope you have a home run gadget player? I think there are better options.

I make fun of the mocks... Still, they're entertaining hot-stove-league discussion points.

In some of the post-QB Free agent frenzy mocks, Offensive line guys seem to be on the rise (gotta protect the new investments) and Defensive line guys are sliding. We won't know the reality till the draft of course.

As if we are the Packers?
Based on their rankings:
#1 Patrick Queen (With Kirksley onboard, less pressure on Queen to take over day 1)
#2 Denzel Mims (If he's still on the board at the end of round 2, run to the podium with the selection)
#3 Ezra Cleveland (he sounds raw, but sure has the athletic tools)

Though, I'm guessing both Mims and Cleveland are gone before those slots

I really want to go with Jonathan Taylor if he is there in the first, but based on this ranking, Queen is there, so I take him in the first.
2nd round, I am bummed to miss on Mims, but I am going to J.K. Dobbins
3rd round, Lynn Bowden

Depending on who's available at #30, I wouldn't at all be surprised by the Packers taking a DL, LB, WR, OL. (This offer good for today only.....)

Dobbins would be a solid choice in the 2nd

Going Wildcat (in more ways than one! ) with Bowden :D

With three 6th round picks and two 7th rounders, I also would not be surprised if the Pack tries to bundle some to move up, rather than down this year. I'd also only be a little surprised if they didn't move some of those late-round picks for future considerations - just to allow more cap wiggle room this year - short SB window

Any combination of Murray/Queen and Aiyuk/Mims/Reagor/Hamler is where I want to be on draft night. With some titties in my face hopefully as well. That sounds perfect.

What do you guys think about drafting a defensive lineman in the 1st? I'm starting to get a draft crush on Ross Blacklock. I think pairing him with Clark on the front line would be a match-up nightmare for offensive lines.

I'm not the prospect guru that many of you guys are, but I could live with drafting a skilled DL guy for a couple of reasons. A run-stuffer would be nice - stop the RB at the line, rather than 3 to 5 yards downfield. Then, there's less pressure on the ILB to prevent a breakaway run too. Another reason is Lancaster and Lowry look more like backups to this point and Keke ????

Blacklock, Murray, Queen, any of the top WR's won't break my heart if they're the choice at #30. I could even be talked into a stud OL guy, if one of them slides.

1st - Patrick Queen ILB
2nd - Davon Hamilton NT
3rd - Chase Claypool WR

Davon Hamilton might be a bit of a reach but we are lacking size on the line. Clark is a beast, but outside of him we don't have any standout run stuffers. If we could slide him over and put Hamilton at nose tackle, I think it would help our run defense tremendously. Clark would still be the nose tackle in obvious passing situations.

Claypool is an athletic freak that put up great #s on a top program last year - I doubt he slips to 3rd rd but if he's there I'd scoop him up without hesitation.

The NFL draft will pretty much have the highest ratings ever, right?

I think that's a pretty safe bet. Day 1 will probably rival the SB and the final day might get PO esque ratings

Not a fan, because our edge guys will provide the pass rush, we already have a pretty elite DT...seems to me filling in the gaps on that could be done via fairly low cost FA. DE in a 3/4 just don't seem like difference makers very often, even though we play a lot of nickle, just don't see the return on investment there.

If we went with a lineman I think I’d go OL before DL unless the talent disparity was insane. I’m always a fan of beefing up the trenches but since we have holes at important skill positions I’d much rather try and land a high end prospect WR or MLB before worrying about either side of the line.

Blacklock looks like he’s going to be a good player but I thought we drafted a DL in the first round last year? Need to get Gary on the field. I’d love to see him next to Clark.
Need a LB and a WR before we draft a DL.

OL is an interesting proposition. You have Bulaga leaving, Bhak, Lynsley and Lane Taylor all UFA after next season. I think you take the best available G or C in this draft somewhere in the third or fourth round. Then either kick Jenkins into C spot or keep him at G if you get a C you really like. We've seem to have historically done pretty well drafting OL, would be huge to hit on another mid to late round starter.

Just watching some more Mims, I think he is the guy. Speed is fantastic 4.38, his three cone drill was demonic 6.66, his ability to turn and adjust to the ball is really impressive.

And Jalen Reagor basically looks like a young Emmanuel Sanders to me. Guy just seems electric.

Revising my pick 3 from before;
Jalen Reagor
JK Dobbins
Albert Okwuegbunam

That's a whole lot of fun to be had on offense...I'm not totally sold on which RB I want most, because guys like McFarland and Cam Akers look like playmakers in this draft too...this draft is just dripping with talent
