Bloomberg donated 40 millions.

Bill gates donated billions over the years in vaccine research.

Just to name a few.
Please do some research of Jack Ma before singing praises of his generosity. Ever wonder why he "retired" from the company he founded, at age 54? Also look into who owns that company now.

Dont be naive.

While I have not researched Jack Ma, I wouldn't say I'm naive. Off the top of my head, I recall the CCP basically taking over and forcibly retiring him. If so, he may still be filthy rich and capable of donating something without being a front man. I don't know. It was a randomly chosen example of current donations coming from non-U.S. Fed sources.

Fair enough, appreciate the response. There is lots going on behind the scenes that cannot be discussed on a public forum.

They probably are just testing more + have a very cosmopolitan (travel a lot) population. There are way more cases in the country vs. confirmed cases, guaranteed. Mild cases in most locales won't get tested. Death rate is pretty low in NY so far for how many cases there are.

HAHAHA! It's a pandemic, not a traffic jam. "Leadership" doesn't cure a worldwide disease.

NYC is the only city in the nation where people practically live, work, commute on top of each other. You can barely self-distance 6ft apart because there's regularly not enough space on sidewalks, in stores, etc. for people to do so. That has nothing to do with Cuomo's or anyone else's leadership or lack thereof.

This is a global phenomenon. Urban areas have higher population density and therefore higher likelihood of transmission. Richer countries have greater capacity to test and thus show higher numbers reported. The true mortality rate will probably never be known because of this. Hard to draw any conclusion from the data other than social distancing is still the best protection we can hope for for the time being.

NY State is going to have the worst impact because it's NY. Isn't rocket science.

Also, they're getting a ton of testing kits in the state, so more tests = more positive results.

(on another note, I wouldn't praise Japan's efforts to fight coronavirus because I think there are some shady things going on there)

Yeah - but testing capacity is not equal in all places in the states. I showed some symptoms that were in the ballpark this past week in Oregon and they were like "meh, stay at home."

I live in a region where neighboring countries can have a GDP per capita of one tenth or less, so the discrepancy in wealth and the correlation to testing availability is a little more in your face. To your point though, we hear a lot about hospitals preferring patients stay home unless your symptoms are severe because of the strain on the system and increased risk of contagion by moving about.

I went from a sore throat last Saturday to a full force dry cough on Monday - to headaches & fatigue in the middle of the week - but appear to be emerging from whatever I had (thanks to extensive use of herbal antivirals and immune boosters) this morning. I'm still not out of the woods, and cannot really exert myself. But I am assuming that I have had and am getting to the other side of this.

Never got tested inasmuch as I didn't qualify (due to not ever developing the high fever) - and in NY, given the huge crush of cases, no medical facility was going to take me seriously without the high fever.

I'm 64, with a couple of well-controlled underlying medical conditions. But I'm feeling pretty confident today that the worst is over. But I still need to rest and respect this power of this bug to do damage.

He sent a letter to North Korea offering to help them combat corona when he can't even do his job here
