It is not a toy drug

Some people tried to use it on their own to inoculate themselves which is not just illogical to start with, but dangerous. It is not a preventative for the virus, but only possibly a cure for some, if at all. Well, one of them died, the other is in critical condition.

I can say from personal experience that I got a malaria vaccination back in 2010 and it made me very ill. I was crapping blood and falling over because it destroyed my inner equilibrium for a day. I had a very toxic experience and that is the case for something like 15-20% of those who get vaccinated for malaria.

Are you a virologist irl?

If so, what are your views on these papers?

And so on.

I imparted that because I wanted people to know there were other people out there self-medicating themselves. You still need to be treated by medical professionals because it is not a trivial drug. Are we clear now?

When a medical abstract says it is a safe drug, I can attest for the reality with firsthand experience that some people experience strong side effects. I don't need to be a virologist to relay that to other people as a word of caution about taking matters into their own hands without first obtaining expert medical advice.

I guess I'll reveal a little bit of who I am. I work in the research field and please please listen to CDC, WHO, scientists and doctors. If you listen to that idiot, you're on your own.

If that is true, I hope Trump will do my laundry for me like he did for the Brighton Beach mafia at the Taj Mahal

I'm beginning to think my state is going to be the worst hit due both to the lack of seriousness here and the amount of seniors.

Florida's governor is even worse than Trump. DeSantis is really dropping the ball.

The following graph is predictive and not fact, but if the modeling is anywhere close to reality we're talking about a massive spike in three weeks and what could result in a mass die-off of the elderly about a month from now.

Because of this shoddy handling of the situation down here, they better hope there are remedial drugs that will save lives, because (IMO) prevention has already failed in Florida.

Italy was supposed to reach it's peak today. Maybe it peaked a little earlier.

The math adds up. We're about 2 weeks out from their hard quarantine, no?

Okay.. maybe I'll try and do the math later or find a reputable source that already has. The big factor however is how huge of a country America is. What states are comparable to the size of Italy?

Crazy how none of this makes any logical sense at all.

First reported case in Italy was Jan. 31st. First reported case in the states was Jan. 21st. To me the situation in Italy is just going to be an outlier. And you definitely can't use Italy as an example of what's going to happen here. There are so many different factors. This thing spread because of excessive air travel because of globalization. When it left China.. it went everywhere. To think that it wasn't here just as quick as it was everywhere else just isn't common sense. We have a huge Chinese population throughout the country. I mean huge. And there are dozens upon dozens of flights to and from China everyday.

I'm of the thinking it's been here.. it's been everywhere. And like all Coronaviruses the heat and humidity is going to win the fight eventually. They don't like sunlight. But we need to use this as an example of what not to do and what to do so the next time because there is always going to be a next time we can respond efficiently and effectively. Thank the lord this wasn't an ebola outbreak.. seriously.

And honestly.. come on.. isn't about time we all wake up to the debacle that is the American government. Hahaha.. I mean it's like our government hasn't studied the human psyche at all. We need a leader that can comfort the country while telling them the hard truth. Stay the F away from each other for a little while.. and if you have to get out there because we're going to have to get out there soon.. practice all the necessary precautions. Be smart.. move slow.

Oh and prediction.. the celebrating when the bug is beat (for now of course) is going to be off the charts. I've been working through this.. that's when I'll practice my social distancing. Because it's going to be bonkers. Of course the longer the pandemic here in the states the crazier the bash. Estranged couples have already probably gotten back together. Old grudges will be forgotten. Humans are just such emotional creature. Billions of tears will be shed. And then time will pass... just like it passed from Sept 11th.. and things will go back to normal until the next crisis.

Hopefully everyone will be a little more conscious of taking care of the planet because that's ultimately and undeniably the NUMBER 1 issue we need to address. That's why these kind of things are occurring. And it's going to get worse.

None. Italy is 60M. Closest is California at around 40M. The next three in order are TX, NY and FL

In the USA, we are not flattening the curve in equal measures so it will be very tricky to model the country as a whole yet until we see how each state is affected.

My neighbor who beat lung cancer who two weeks ago said this was a hoax but now does not think it is knows I loathe Trump.

When I told him about the slush fund, he said that's criminal. When I said Trump was holding rallies just over a month ago calling corona a hoax, he admits now that was wrong.

Yet he still asked me today why I cannot at least credit Trump for the good things he does even if he has made mistakes.

I felt that was like asking why don't I credit a broken clock for being correct twice each day.

See the framing is just awful. We don't have to shut it down for MORE than 3 months. China shut it down for 2 months.
