I think people are just fed up with his response over the course of this whole event. He has consistently and dangerously underestimated it's impact and it's threat since it first came on the radar. Larry Summers was just on CNN, saying that when people can't trust what their leaders are saying, it just contributes to the panic. What people need from it's leaders in a time of crisis like this, he said, is accurate information, accurate forecasts, and accurate advice.

Just for instance, today Trump is saying he could possibly relax the social distancing guidelines soon- against the advice of almost all of our medical experts.

A lot of good ones in there by our fearless leader. My personal favorite is when he's whimsically speculating that instead of being president, he could have been the one to find a cure for corona virus. If only we could clone him!

Fauci being marginalized and Trump talking about going back to normalcy in a week is a really bad sign for us all. Supposedly Pence is annoyed with the handling of this all. There used to be rumors early in Trump's presidency that the Republican's game plan was to eventually remove Trump and glorify Pence. If there was ever any truth to that, now's the time to exercise that option.

won't happen. trump is way too popular amongst his birther base, which is perhaps still the majority in what is now HIS party. the rest of the party is more than willing to set aside his lunacy because they're getting their tax cuts, deregulation, and court appointments. which require maintaining the presidency. i think that pence would have a significantly smaller chance of accomplishing that. plus trump scratches the gnawing itch of those desperate for a twitter troll with a megaphone to fight the culture war for them given that they've been losing it since the civil war

daily death toll in italy has declined 2 days in a row two weeks after they began taking stronger measures. very good sign

meanwhile here in the USA, states w/ stay-at-home orders increased from 7 to 13 today

Yeah in Italy that's some good news that is desperately needed. Containment via lockdown is your greatest ally right now.

We have to stay away and hope our curve and peak out isnt as sharp. Reading some reports that measures in the US are showing signs they are similar to what SKorea has, which again is a positive. Lets hope ppl stay the course and don't lose focus.

Wasn’t going to share this, but...

today I had an appointment to get an epidural as a starting point of hoping to avoid another surgery on my neck.... was surprised the appointment wasn’t cancelled....

As I laid there feeling a bit woozy after the process, in a hospital, in a town that reports zero cases, the doctor and his technician were quietly speaking in the small room connected to the room i was in.

The doctor tells her that “_______ tested positive” to which she responded, “I don’t envy those guys, he’s what, the 4th to test positive in the ER?” ... then he goes on to tell her, “yeah, if we ever BEGIN actual testing, I fear we won’t have enough nurses to function”......

feb. 21 in italy: epidemic takes off as reported cases increase from 4 to 21
18 days later: nationwide stay-at-home order as reported cases pass 10,000 mark
13 days later: new reported cases decrease on consecutive days for the first time

mar. 2 in USA: epidemic takes off w/ 25 new reported cases
21 days later: no national stay-at-home order as reported cases hits 44,000

my guess is that due to lack of testing we have already surpassed the % of the population that italy was at when their national order was issued. regardless, we'll hit that REPORTED % of the population in the next day or two

Things went well thanks. I’ve got to do it 3-4 more times to see if it takes down the pain and some swelling ... had me a bit woozy, but I’m good, thanks man.

Yeah, I’d be shocked if these conversations aren’t taking place in many clinics/hospitals. It was obvious that the hospital was taking it serious even if this state isn’t. They had nurses at the entrance taking people’s temps, asking questions, and not allowing more than one person in with the patient (whom also got checked). They had a lot of people walking around disinfecting chairs, had people in gloves opening any non-automatic door and pressing the elevator buttons. The doctors and techs themselves were wearing much more ppe than normal and they required people to wear masks if they slightly coughed.

I was literally hit by a truck. Fell back really hard. At the time, adrenaline flowing, I felt alright... it was hours later that I couldn’t stand. Had a pretty serious procedure on my spine, but still have issues. Oh yeah, migraines.... I’ve had them my entire life, normally once or twice a month (sometimes lasting days) but that’s actually my biggest issue now. I can live with the pain I’m in daily, but it sets off migraines every other day that completely immobilize me.

Senate Republicans had their chance in December and chose not to exercise that option.

It will be up to the voters to make a change as the Republicans have anchored themselves to the ship of DJT. Whether it sinks or floats we will see.

Thanks Dice.... I’m hoping so. It’s been an extremely long process (over 2 years) but the doctors seem to be really keying in on an area that’s been giving me issues. Took over a year to get them to take a real look and do some tests....

before they finally got to the point where they were like “hmm C6-C7, doesn’t look like it should”... me “where’s C6-C7?”... doctor touching me “here”... “oh, you mean in the area that I’ve been telling you I’ve had severe pain for well over a year? Go figure”

Feels like I’m on a good path to some sort of pain management or worst case, surgery that will allow me to get back to some form of living.
