Looks like we will see how Joel handles this team without Ben.

The season being suspended couldn't have come at a better time for the Sixers relating to Ben Simmons. It means when the season finally resumes in August that Simmons will be back and would barely have missed any games and we will be at full strength.

And still losing games on the road and by that time coach Brown would have gone back to Embiid, Simmons, Al and Harris all playing together. August?

Also the stronger teams that got buyout players or players they traded for at the deadline, will have time to get better and gel as a unit. 76ers will be playing catch up.
The Accession of Paul Reed is upon us !

The back injury is serious if surgery is still on the table. Dwight Howard April 2012 back surgery was the beginning of the end of him as elite player. And he was elite from 2008-2012. Way more than Ben is right now.

Howard was out for a couple of months like Ben will be. Both of them with elite athletic ability jumping moving etc.

Let’s hope Ben back isn’t as bad. Howard just turned 26 end of 2011 when back started acting up.

Why doesn’t Simmons have surgery now and he will then be 100% fit and ready when play resumes around Dec?

Surgery is something he wants to avoid as last resort. I dunno. He will probably need it. It may be a bigger problem. He’s so stiff the way he goes up. So much torque on the back when you see him go for dunks and twists. He’s back stiffness has given him issues before. The very few games he’s missed in 2.5 years.

Back surgery is absolutely last resort stuff. You don't want to be stuffing around back there unless absolutely necessary.

For all we know he just has a nerve impingement that can take a few months to settle down.... and then a lifetime of chiro appointments to keep making sure it doesn't get impinged again.

Ironically this shutdown is the best thing that could happen for Ben. He literally may be ready to go if the season resumes. (Which I personally doubt)

Take it with a grain of salt.

So tobias harris have been posting imaginary post game photos on his instagram account. Somebody asked him when will Ben be back, he said next week. The instragram post was posted last week.

I saw that too but I have no idea how you interpreted that as coinciding with Ben’s real life health.

Interesting recent Dunc'd On pod with All-Defense teams of the season. Both Danny Leroux and Nate Duncan had Simmons not making either team, and also there was a claim made that Kris Dunn was "the steals king", when Simmons leads Dunn in total and average. Its just got to the stage where anything those two say about Simmons have to be taken with a very large dose of salt. Duncan also had Donovan Mitchell ahead of Simmons in ROTY, claiming Mitchell was "easily" the best defensive player of the two. Almost as if he hadn't watched any games.

Kris Dunn technically is the steals king in regards to his league leading 3.8% steal percentage.

I'm vehemently against putting single digit scorers on all-whatever teams, though. Simmons definitely deserves the recognition this year.

Besides Embiid and Simmons what could the Suns possibly want?

Harris or Horford... doubt they'll do it though. Would have to include Thybulle or the OKC pick.

At least Thybulle, the OKC pick, and some.
