When I read that stuff about these projected shortages - can’t we just put more people to work to make those items that are needed? It’s like we’re running to our houses in retreat as opposed to fighting the problem. We need more masks and supplies and hospital rooms? - get out there and make and build them. If the virus was a nation that attacked us in an act of war like what happened w/ Pearl Harbor, wouldn’t people be signing up to fight even if it meant death?

I am still not comfortable with this complete disregard towards what these shutdowns are doing to our economy. A depression w/ mass unemployment and bankruptcies will lead to so many issues that could kill people too.

A shelter in place order for 12 weeks will allow us to get back to work and the economy will begin to revive. If they try to screw around and send people back sooner, it will just prolong this thing, cause more deaths, overload the hospitals, continue to put people in fear of going places, and the economy will suffer anyway, for a longer period of time...because people won't want to go places if a lot of people continue to be sick. If we get the stuff behind us the economy improves more quickly,

Look at Texas. They have the worst ratio, though I don't know if it's as bad in Texas yet. Just hard to know, but not a lot of recorded COVID deaths so far.

So you are saying all other states but NY are "ignoring the problem"? Is that really what you are saying? Or is it..MAYBE..that New York is receiving priority over every other state when it comes to the number of tests that are made available?

New York isn’t receiving priority. The state was begging the CDC for tests since February 2nd. They were ignored.

The state has partnered with private labs, and has begun to make its own tests.

But why do you think these private labs are partnering with New York? Its not like other states don't want the tests--they do. New York just gets priority right now due to a number of (legitimate) reasons. I don't think it is fair to say that states outside of NY are "ignoring the problem".

They are clearly only testing the very ill, their case and death numbers go up and down together, when realistically the case number should be 5-7 days ahead.

Still, death and case rate seems to have plateaued from 3/22

Those labs are partnering with New York because New York is giving them money for the partnership.

Could it be because Virus's tend to not spread as much in Warmer Humid climates.

This will prob get deleted by the stay home order in Ohio basically did nothing there's just as much people being forced to work or lose their pay as beforehand.
What part of the word isolation is so difficult for us as a country to understand? I guess when I was 25 I would have just ignored it cause I had nothing to lose.
Feeling pretty sad for my America right now, just not seeing the big picture.
This is going to bring us to our knees because people refused to accept the spread rate and kept on spreading it.

I think you'd be surprised at how little money people have and how dependant they are on their weekly/bi-weekly checks. I imagine Trumps right when he says many are anxious to get back to work. But its on the Government to be responsible people here. I mean we dont even know if people can get re-infected again

Louisiana has the highest rate of infection in the world, it can spread in warm weather.

States aren't testing enough, even NY should be doing 2x more.
