If people think this is cheap, they should’ve been here in the 80s.

Are there any articles on the internet about how the revenue loss from gate and other sources will impact the salary cap and tax lines? I suspect the likelihood of money related deals in the offseason will increase.

The Sixers are pretty easily the most unlikeable sports organization in the city.
Run by incompetent scumbags from top to bottom.

When faced with a decision to do the right thing, I'll always bet on Harris and Scott O'Neil to do the wrong thing. Getting roasted on Twitter right now.
My favorite are the comments that are calling for Tobias Harris or Embiid to donate some of their salary to the cause, which is just so absurd. It'd be nice if they did it, but they are under no obligation to do so.

Yup. In all fairness, 80% is more than unemployment, and they are keeping their benefits, so I'm sure that's how they came up with the justification... But yeah, cost cutting from a billionaire is just not a good look. I'd be kinda disappointed if the players aren't donating money somewhere, but yeah, this isn't their responsibility (particularly after the owner had already pledged to pay these people.
On the flip side, I'd be curious to see what other owners are doing since he's been on the more public side of things with this

Harris is a complete scumbag and this is merely a reminder. Good on Jo but the fact that star players a subsidizing what should be the duties of billionaires is outrageous.

Josh Harris and Scott O’Neil are the scum of the earth.
This is bigger than basketball. Our country is completely screwed right now. People are losing their jobs and livelihood.
If you defend this or give a cent to this organization, you are enabling the problem.

Not to call back to our previous conversation in this thread, but they did literally the opposite of what I was accusing them of doing (using this as an opportunity for goodwill of the general public). It was a profoundly stupid idea to be the first to go public with this.

Lol, just incredible. Glad they needed everyone to get mad at them to make the right decision.

Michael Rubin is apparently flabbergasted with the decision (per Spike Eskin). It'd be nice if he stepped up along with Joel considering he's a billionaire who owns Fanatics.

Absolute spineless scumbags. Sell the team. I'm glad that the everyday workers got this win but as a fan of the team, Harris and Blitzer really need to go. You made 1.8b now **** off. Michael Rubin, you're cool. stick around.

Make no mistake, Michael Rubin doesn’t give a **** and wouldn’t have given a dime of his billion dollars. He was just smart enough to anticipate the PR **** that was coming so he framed himself as being “against it”.

Too bad Will Smith doesn't own more than his minority stake. Mike Lowwrrry would've never let that happen.

I sense a lack of a set of balls and humaness with this ownership. Now we see how easily Hinkie was vanished.

Glad it worked out for the employees, but still reflects horribly on Josh despite reversing the decision. It's not as if he had a moment of clarity, he just tapped out amid a savage PR beating.

Eh, he'd probably try to build a team that would work really well in the 90s, but be disappointing in this era. Oh wait...
