The Official Netflix and Chill Thread

Post#1 » by vincecarter4pres » Sun Mar 22, 2020 10:19 pm

I heard we're in a pandemic? You too? Me too!

So what are you doing during this pandemic and associated quarantine?

I'm eating like **** and drinking too much!

But I'm going to guess we all are!

So the last week I've watched:

My Blue Heaven

The Freshmen

The Upside

There's more, but I don't want to start this thing listing every movie and series I've consumed like a motion picture heroin addict!

Let's hear what you're watching and some of your opinion on why we should also main vein your drug of choice!

I still been working, but I have also been eating like crap and drinking some too many. I'm depressed because I can't go to the gym smh I gained like 8 pounds already.

I caught up on some shows. Ozark, Outsider, Snowfall. I'm currently watching Hunters on Amazon Prime , so far so good. I still got to catch up on a few movies and shows when I can and then I'm back to reading books. But I still have to work . I'm pretty much doing the same things I did minus the gym, which is a big stress reliever for me and a great habit that I miss oso much.

I'm going to buy some flights now while they're as cheap as can be. Most airlines are doing zero cancellation fees and rescheduling.

I've been sleeping a lot tbh. Outside of taking the dog out to run around and working from home it kind of sucks. I'm going to build an at home gym because of this, not being able to lift weights is killing my morale. Having to worry about my sister who is a hospital nurse adds to the anxiety but I try to stay positive because I still have a job, I have supplies and I have health insurance. I feel bad for the people who got laid off or furloughed

Thank god that the liquor stores are deemed essential businesses.

As far as TV goes I've been disinterested. Reading and sleeping got me through the weekend. Hopefully the weather will get nicer I'll be able to sit outside

Man, I thought I was the resident doomer here?

I've been laid off all week and for God knows how long, so been trying to make the best of it while self-quarantining. Going to get into some hiking this week.

Shout out to everyone out there and especially your sis, MDB. And big shout out to the liquor stores too lol.

Swav, what's your job? Hunters is up there on my list for sure too.

In what little I've been working from home each day, I've been playing Pokemon Sword, Animal Crossing New Horizons, and turning my Wii U into an emulator machine. Just got it to start playing GameCube games.

The Trials Of Gabriel Fernandez on Netflix is something I wanna watch. Little Fires Everywhere on Hulu is another. In terms of streaming, I just wanna make it to Friday for Ozark.

Is Animal Crossing that good? People seem obsessed with it

It's not for everyone. Hell, I only got into it because my niece forced me to play on her 3DS and my girl bought it for me on the Switch. She actually bought it twice so I wouldn't pick up my preorder during the quarantine.

vc4p i didn't realize you said you've been laid off. I hope you were able to at least get unemployment.

Hopefully congress can get something done and get monthly payments going. I still have my job and am working from home so I don't want any money, I'd rather it go to people who have been let go due to lack of work, illness or freelancers/elderly folks.

Dirty Work is excellent haha. As are all those on Prok's list.

That made me think of Men At Work, another early 90's gem.

Yeah, I was laid off the week before all the quarantine orders came down, but with the expectation to be brought back within a couple weeks. But that was before this got completely out of control, though I personally saw the writing on the wall.

I'm collecting, but it's not really enough to totally keep afloat without dipping into savings, but I'm not stressing too bad yet and hopefully a more everyday people friendly version of that Bill gets signed soon and then I'll be fine.

Thanks for asking Prok as well, I'll just respond to both of you here and thanks for offering help!

I'm an apprentice in a trades Union and the company I'm currently with is mainly considered non-essential. I've been in contact with a couple of the guys there and I'm not sure if they're shutdown entirely or just have a handful of their core company guys working.

Tbh I'm not even pressing the issue right now. If they call me in and assure me the work environment is safe I'm not going to turn it down because I wouldn't mind latching on with this company and their work is the aspect of the trade I did for years non-union before I got in, but I can ride it out a few months if necessary and limit my contact with this facking virus.

I watched "How it ends" with Forrest Whitaker. It's worth the watch just for him alone, amazing actor.

I'm watching some "Office".

Some true crime stuff on the ID channel.

We definitely need some more Nets stuff on the YES channel. They got every Yankees thing you could think of. Come on

Other than that, I'm just trying to stay in and do the right thing. I did find out my cousins wife got the virus. She is out of the hospital. So I guess she is OK. I keep thinking of the old saying "If you got your health, you got everything!"

Guys, somebody came up positive today from my job. I work for DSNY, Sanitation in NYC. We are basically first responders . I worked on the same shift with the guy 2 days in a row, last Friday and Saturday but I did not get close to him. He was taking it as a joke and now he's positive. I am panicking.

My job shut down in the middle of the shift and let everybody home today. But they are only giving us 12 hours and we're back to work. They're only going to disinfect the place and let the 6 AM shift come to work like a normal day and my shift, which is 4 PM, is back to regular program. I'm just going to call out sick tomorrow and the rest of the week. The city literally does not give a FCK about us !!! They are not providing us with any extra gear or equipment. They're not doing anything to protect us whatsoever. I'm in pretty good shape, but I have horrible asthma, I definitely do not need this. It's getting spooky.

Be safe my brother and try to somehow get yourself tested!

Maybe whistle blow this situation somehow too, feels like it should be mandatory that they get all of you in contact with him rush tested privately and quarantined until results comeback.
