The video footage isn't great but Vernon Maxwell in '91 stands out to me just because he put up 30 points in the 4th quarter to do it. He was a streaky player, had some seasons where he averaged 17 a game but never averaged 20 over a full season and shot just under 40% for his career. But he also chucked up 3s at the type of rate that seemed insane back then but would be normal in today's NBA.

But he actually scored 41 once in 2008 for Denver. 8.7 PPG for his career, 11.1 PPG that season.

Charlie "I am cancerous to my team and league" Villanueva scored like 46 in his rookie year.

Thought we had a poor mans twin tower forming with him and Bosh lol.

He cooked Kidd and Dirk over and over and over with the Pick and Roll. Ugly.

Melo and amare should thrive in this offense. If Jeremy Tyler and cole Aldridge looked that good in summer league then us knick fans have a lot to be excited about. Make room for all the bandwagoners when we take off

Beat me to it.

Nick Anderson did it once. Was a little surprising even though he was a decent scoring threat. That's an early basketball memory for me.

Tony Delk was obviously a very good 3 point shooter, but whats the most crazy, is that I believe he scored 50 in that game without making a single 3.

Antawn Jamison in 2000. He was a pretty good scorer back then so one 50 point game wasn't exactly a huge surprise but two yeah.

Dana Barros - did it in his All-star year but he was an essentially a career back-up except for 2 seasons

Willie Burton was on that run and gun Philly team.
My eyes glaze over when reading alternative stat (not advanced stat) narratives that go many paragraphs long. If you can not make your point in 2 paragraphs it may not be a great point. :D

of course this was against Dallas. For some reason he always lit up the Mavs.

On a side note, one of my absolute favorite players of all-time. He had the all-time great old man at the Y game.

YES! Such a perfect description. Dude's probably still handing out dimes and cooking people with slow AF crossovers in his over-40 league

I'd tend to go with Delk in large part because he did it in 2003 with that era's pace.

Meeks had game, if he'd stayed healthy I think he'd have been a heck of a scorer off the bench to just shake up games.

As a huge Sonics fan I remember this one. VERY efficient 50 too, I think it took him ~25 shots with zero turnovers!

That said, Lewis was a pretty nice scorer, especially that year. But... yea not an explosive one, a solid scorer with decent high post and 3pt game who you could count on to chip in 20.

Also, I think Delk is less surprising tan some of the people on this list (like Andre Miller or Charlie V) bc Delk was 'Tony Buckets' (a loose and not overused nickname but still) And his one major ability was to be a streaky scorer.
