IDK for sure who had it 1st or if what your saying indicates which one did but we also had a camera man from that game test positive and end up in a medically induced coma.

Wouldnt shock me though if the Jazz players caught it here. Wayne county is looking pretty ate up with it.

I'm not sure if it is the origin of the phrase "don't drink the water" but I am pretty sure the last water I'd drink is the kind from a water desalination system on a ship.

Number from the top 7 biggest funeral homes from Wuhan just reported there were such a huge demand on cinerary caskets so they had to limit the number to 500 a day. That's 3500 caskets a day and if this continues to April 5th aka the annual Qing Ming Festival where people go visit their ancestral graves, they will have released 42000 caskets in total.

42000 caskets, for 2531 deaths.

Top: a truck loaded with 2500 caskets.
Bottom: 500 caskets a pile, 7 piles in the room.
Spoiler:

Is that 42000 on top of what they usually make or 42000 inclusive of what they usually make?

Funeral homes don't make those caskets. They sell hem to the customers. They order those caskets from their manufacturers based on the demand, and they never had such demand in such short period of time.

For COVID-19, those caskets are free. The government is paying for all of them.

Please

- don't use this thread to voice how much (you think) America sucks. Criticism is normal, but make sure you're not just venting or making the topic an echo chamber (happened last night)

- don't dump some random case in here that does not have enough info to verify it. A 17 year old died. Anyone who reads the article or googles a bit, finds himself without enough info to actually comment. Let's not speculate. The death apparently isn't even attributed to covid-19 right now. There is a lot of sensationalism out there. Make sure things are well sourced.

Discuss the healthcare system in the proper place --- current affairs board.

- don't feed certain discussions. I.e, the China discussion. All we know, as extremely dumb basketball fans who live in a fake democracy, is that China threw a tantrum over a tweet by a GM. Think of that what you will.

A user posted something of the "it's just flu nature", it generated 4 or 5 replies immediately. It is not practical to have a topic where anyone who posts something "wild" can wreck it and if mods don't move those posts out, you will have pages filled with empty posts attacking some flu bro. You can just smile and ignore or report...

Please read the OP.

A cruise ship with 1800 passengers has 4 dead and 138 sick, on the way to Ft
Lauderdale. Apparently they won't allow them through the Panama canal though.

I heard they got approval from the state of Florida before they set sail. That was in early March.

I think we're already over 500 today and we still have 8 hours to go.

Yeah thats a frightening story. Don't know why people would be on a cruise ship but regardless thats gotta be pretty scary being stuck on there.

That site has us at 241 so far today. The 519 number is the total number of deaths overall so far in NY from COVID.

My previous post was wrong. It was 268 deaths yesterday in the US. Things aren't looking good if we are already at 241 today.

The total number of deaths to date was up around 1000 yesterday, right? So our total is up to 1500 now, that would be around 500 deaths today?

Germany ramping up testing, plan is a minimum of 200000 tests per day. They think they can reach this number by eastern. They are going the extrem testing route to try to find every single case so this people can isolate themselves.
