Went to a clinic to get checked out was tested for the flu and corona, flu came back negative, now on quarantine until the results come back which I was told bc of the amount of people testing could take up to two weeks.
Starting to feel like ****. Woke up with my eyes irritated almost like pinkeye. If I do have it I'm not getting the usual symptoms, it's not the flu as the test came back negative, definitely not a cold.

Re: Shams: The season is suspended / Coronavirus Thread
So, reports coming out that Trump is taking retribution on the states of Michigan and Washington, maybe others. Vendors are telling the two governors they can't deal with them. Trump also says publicly for the Coronavirus task force leader, Mike Pence, to not call either one of them because he doesn't like the criticism. First Trump tells the governors to fend for themselves, and then intentionally hamstrings them if they don't praise him. It was bad enough when all they had was competition with FEMA and the government, that alone was ridiculous. Now, is this politics, or is this something else? I can tell you this, without criticism the Magic board wouldn't exist, that's all we do. To criticize is to be an American. How would anything in this country exist without criticism? This has got to stop at some point. Can we not all pull together anymore on anything, or are we now at greater risk for being Democrats or standing in disagreement? Hell, you don't even have to be either, you just have to live in one of those states.

Also gomagic.. Dunno if you read these but I think constant RE-EXPOSURE is fatal? SO you better not get re-infected if ever. However, other studies seem to contradict this so I dunno. This virus is too new for all of us to get any confirmed statements.
Another is that it has a MINIMUM of 2 weeks incubation and up to 37 days for some in Europe.
Also Driguez.. hope you feel better as well.

No, it doesn't work that way. He'll have antibodies to it once he gets through this infection. He'll be immune to it, unless it mutates. We are going to need him to take care of us on the other side once a significant number goes down. He'll either be driving a UPS truck, stocking grocery stores, or working in Amazon soon, lol.

Just be careful spreading information you're hearing that contradict a lot of other reports, I'd like to see the source. If anything, re-exposure doesn't do anything yet as they don't think you're able to re-catch the same strain (and if you do, the symptoms aren't there, let alone fatal).

Some scientists said people who were thought to have "re-caught" the virus really just had the initial virus in their system and relapsed.

Yup.. that was why I explicitly said * i dunno if you read this..* but more importsntly.. * this virus is too new for us to know anything.. *
But yeah its a great news knowing that if you survive this you wont get it again or be immune..
spinedoc : UPS driver or Amazon? give gomagic a better job taking care of us like "toilet paper re-stocker" or something. lol

We don't have answers to many questions at this time. Much of what people have been stating is largely just speculation based on what we know from other viruses or other strains of coronaviruses.
Contrary to what some have stated, recovering from a virus-based disease does not necessarily give you immunity to future infection from the same virus. This is often the case, but not always. The flu is a prime example of an exception. It never really goes away, but it only flares up during optimal conditions, which is why it is seasonal.
The reported cases of reinfection are probably just the result of false positives or false negatives. If a test isn't absolutely accurate (and many aren't), then it is entirely possible that someone that has the virus could test negative and vice versa.

I will lead the realgm magic survivors of the apocalypse to a group outing. Draft night? Opening night? I'll shave my head and you can rub it for immunity.

Not a great example actually, sorry. Its due to the mutation. Some are saying there are multiple strains of this coronavirus circulating the globe. That may be the cause of "re-infection", but by and large your antibodies should help you fight it off better the next time regardless. You won't catch the same exact virus, but you can catch a new strain. No one has seen this before, that's why its wreaking so much havoc. Also, that's why the flu shot isn't as predictable every year. They take their best guess given the common strains, but even taking a flu shot each year, you still very well could get the flu.

It appears they are tackling the issue that causes distress instead of targeting the virus itself. Interesting.

Gomagic44 wrote:Update boys I think I've turned the corner. No coughing fits at all today. Woke up at 4am. About to take a nap. I have a weird love hate relationship with sleep now. Got used to fever dreams and waking up wondering if I needed to go to the hospital. Added complication is my wife is in immigration and that all got frozen when this hit. So she offered to drive me one night to hospital and my first thought was what if the cop that pulls her over is related to the att sales guy who conveniently reminded her that her passport is expired. What a Pandora's box of **** that could be.
Now I'm actually feeling excited that I may gain immunity and don't have to be as anxious as society at large because the wave already rolled over me.

3 Wednesday's ago on March 11th I had a fever. I think I started to feel a fever on March 10th Tuesday when I was eating dinner at Kyoto sushi and grill after 6pm but than I didn't feel the fever until Wednesday morning when I woke up to use the restroom and I felt hot and sweaty and the fever broke off around 3pm on March 11th. There's certain days I feel my lungs but it's in very very brief periods. Sometimes when I climb up stairs, I'm winded and can feel my lungs by the time I get to the top. I have this problem too with my lungs when I first starting full court playing basketball if I play hard from the start, but it gets better the more I exercise. Yesterday I went underwater in my swimming pool and I felt like I couldn't stay under water for more than 10 seconds. All of this seems to depend on how much sugar I take, how much sleep/rest I got. I haven't played basketball at LA fitness on a weekly basis since that 1st week of March so I'm probably not in as good of a shape as 3 weeks ago.
So earlier in March I either had the coronavirus, the cold/flu.

I am guessing that they were never "cured" but the virus was still in their system and they truly hadn't recovered yet.

There are two sides to every equation. Either focus on the virulence of the virus, and/or the host on which it grows. As Pasteur later said, its not the seed, its the soil.

Russia is claiming they have mapped the Genome to the virus and speculate that prevention and treatment may be available within 2-3 months.
