Yeah, if Kyrie has decided that Allen is no longer in Brooklyn's plans he would be a great addition for a lot of teams. I feel bad for the Nets fans to be honest, the ones who stuck through the years Boston got their picks anyway. They managed to claw their way back to respectability with great coaching and management, did such a great job that two stars wanted to sign there and now those stars are going to tear down everything the rebuild accomplished.

If we end up picking 8-10th then a trade for Allen might not be the worst idea. I think Allen for the 8-10th pick is a bit of an overpay but Allen+future BRK lotto-protected 1st for the 8-10th pick seems fair to me. Nets get four year of a cost-controlled lotto pick which is a big help since all their cap is tied up in Irving/Durant/Jordan/Dinwiddie/Levert. They also avoid paying Allen a big extension that would crush them with luxury tax penalties. Hornets get a good young C on the same timeline as the rebuild, Allen is probably also better than anyone Charlotte could lure in 20-21 free agency.

If things turn sour between Gobert and Utah, would you guys be willing to trade for him?

No trades that will make us better before getting our franchise player. Let's not go back down that road.

It's a shame that Steve Mills was fired before he could give up a 1st round pick for Rozier. If they're still interested in him I'd take Portis and all of the 2nds they got from Cho.

Julius Randle (Note: Only $4 Million of his 2021-22 salary is guaranteed so he essentially expires after 2020-21 like Batum) for Nicolas Batum?

It would save MJ some money and probably be good for both players, so why not? As long as Randle is cool with not getting featured on offense.

Why would the Knicks do it?

Would you guys go for this?

CHA out Bridges, Zeller, Rozier
CHA in Wiggins, Looney, Scott, pick swap with GS

GSW out Wiggins, Looney, pick swap with CHA
GSW in Horford, Bridges, Zhaire Smith

PHI out Horford, Scott, Smith
PHI in Rozier and Zeller

I don't think Bridges is our long-term guy at SF, so I wouldn't be opposed to trading him to move up. And taking Wiggins is whatever, he'd be the only guy on the roster making real money at the conclusion of next season.

I would only do that if Wiseman is there, even then, I'd probably want to extort an extra pick or two out of Philly

My assumption was that Wiseman would be a Hornet, and yeah I agree that getting a draft asset on top of this from Philly is reasonable.

Got another take on a Horford trade with Dallas included:

We send out Zeller and Rozier
We get back Horford and Powell

The 76ers get Zeller and Jackson.

The Mavericks get Rozier.

We get the Mavericks 1st and a future asset from Philly, and Dallas gets Philadelphia's 2020 1st. We draft Pokusevski to develop while we ride out Horford and Powell's contracts.

I think Philly cuts out Dallas and takes Rozier, they're one of the few teams for whom Rozier would be a real asset. I guess Dallas would be one of them too but I'd rather not have to take back Powell.

Rozier+Zeller for Horford+Scott+34+future 1st would be a decent haul.

What would it take to land Buddy Hield here ? Involving Miles obviously.

I think Philly would be interested in both Zeller and Rozier as well, but I'm not sure they'd be down to take on even more salary for the upcoming season. It might not have mattered if Covid-19 had not happened, but with the financial uncertainty the league is facing I'm not sure they'd be comfortable trading for both. That's why I roped Dallas into the trade because they're another team I could see being interested in Rozier.

If there's a bright side to all of this, MJ couldn't have asked for a better time to enter a rebuilding period with the accompanying reduced payroll. Mitch Kupchak should have a lot of trade options available to him, we finally have players on contracts that other teams will value. I could even see some team convincing themselves that they want Batum. They won't pay to get him, but for teams like the Warriors, Mavericks, Jazz, Pacers, Nets, Kings, etc. that either need to reduce salary or clear space to re-sign guys he could be an enticing option.

After 4 years of this organization having absolutely no flexibility to make moves, we should finally get to see things happen in the near future.

Gonna have to explain why. He is still young, not necessary too old for the young core, and his contract is really great (decreasing from 24M to 18M in the 4th year). Looks like a legit starting sg (better than Beal, especially against top teams for me), all depends on the price though.
Its not like defense will be required till youngsters have developed anyway and he would help keeping the defense honnest with PJ (and others from next draft hopefully)
