I stopped watching early this season. I just didn't seem to care anymore. Did it get better?

Oh, maybe I'll check that out. Running out.

Just finished all 7 seasons of Madmen in 10 days. I've only watched like 7 episodes of Breaking Bad spread out and the finale, so watching all 5 seasons now, which should be done in 7 days.

Actually the movie with subtitles was.good..not the Americanized version.. death note 1 and 2 and then the third part was called "L".
Try Junji Ito collection, also King's Game is fun if you like horror anime.

For brand new shows check out Harley Quinn (new DC animated show). It's vulgar in a good way, really funny. It would be bigger if it was on a service more people had. Luckily I torrent.

Underrated dramas from last decade (I won't mention the more obvious ones like Walking Dead and American Horror Story):

Halt and Catch Fire - set in 80s computer, video game, etc. industry. It's a show about connection (hence the internet metaphor) and egos in my opinion. Of the great dramas this decade it's one of the ones that most feel like it could have come out last decade as it's a straight forward 4 actor drama and Lee Pace's character belongs in the convo of the great anti heroes.

UnREAL - This is flawed but good at the same time, at least in the first season, there's some diminishing returns after that. Its characters run a Bachelor style show where the manipulation behind the scenes to make people have breakdowns on camera is turned up to a crazy dark level. The main character played by Shiri Appleby is bipolar and the Lebron of lying to/manipulating people, so she's carrying the team but also on the edge of a breakdown at all times, sleeping with contestants, etc. The other character that's a highlight is her boss who is the ultimate ice queen/savage. The show runs into some salary cap issues with the supporting actors though. Anyways I watched the whole first season in one day.

Also AppleTV is actually good. I don't think they've made a perfect show yet, but I enjoyed For All Mankind, Morning Show, Servant.

Underrated comedies (again I don't need to mention ones like Community):

Broad City - such great chemistry between its two lead actresses who carry over their real life friendship, and I find it extremely well directed and edited, I think that's the secret sauce to a lot of the great comedies since they moved away from the multi cam sitcom style (eg. there is a lot that goes into directing an episode of The Office or Community, I feel). If I had to pick a show this decade that is relatively low watched now but has a chance to blow up some time in the future this might be my pick. I think it has a chance to connect with young people going through a transition period and is one of the most meme-able shows of all time.

The Mindy Project - I never really got why shows led by some of Mindy Kaling's contemporaries like Tina Fey and Amy Poehler got so much more buzz for worse shows. This is really funny with standouts in both female and male characters, I really enjoy the romcom storyline and how it twists the genre. It had a turbulent run in terms of cast changes and changed a lot, but the first three seasons are all around classic to me.

Some shows I would recommend as a fellow TIU fan:

Six Feet Under - Since it's a family drama that involves death (they run a funeral home) it has some similarities. One of the best shows of all time.

Once Upon A Time - it uses past/present storytelling. I'm one of the few who thinks this is one of the best sci-fi/fantasy shows ever and that it's better than its blood cousin Lost, unfortunately when people see network show with characters like Snow White they check out. My dream is Disney+ goes all in on it and by filling the adult friendly content vacuum for them it finally gets the recognition it deserves, although I think it's content is slightly borderline for them (some darker murder stuff in it).

Google "Hind Rajab"
Total Killed by Israel = 50,000+
Israel kills a child every 45 minutes and ban aid workers from bringing in baby formula
Total being starved by Israel = 500,000 -1,000,000

Just watching:

Giri/Haji
100% on Rotten Tomatoes and totally deserved.

Smart, suspenseful, and superbly shot, Giri/Haji is a near-perfect crime thriller with a surprisingly sharp sense of humor. A Yakuza crime drama set in London it combines the best of Japanese action and British cop shows. Totally awesome.

also recently watched the equally awesome

"Beforeigners"

a wildly cool and smart show from Netflix Norway. basically out of the blue in contemporary Oslo large numbers of people from the past like Vikings and Victorians and Pre-historic cavemen start randomly appearing out of nowhere without any idea how or why they time-travelled. The whole city becomes this trans-temporal mashup and one of the Vikings, a 'shieldmaiden' ie. female warrior queen - played by an awesomely badass and gorgeous actress, becomes a cop. So it is sort of a vikings in Oslo cop story. Totally hilarious and trippy. Highly highly recommended.

Good show to follow up Madmen with is Halt and Catch Fire. Show is similar in some ways though not quite as good overall but still great. Follows the develop of personal computers in the early 80s.
When will we just change the name of 25 of the 30 teams to the Washington Generals?

Please advise….

I'm binging this season (all winners) of Survivor right now and shocked at how much I am into it again... last season I watched was the Heroes vs Villains one in like 2010? And I think I had missed a few before then too. I'm glad to see some classic contestants again like Boston Rob, Amber, Yul, Ethan, Sandra, Parvati.

It's aged poorly for me, because living here in LA, there's just no conceivable way that these characters could travel the distances they're suggesting, in 10 minutes.

Started watching Jack Ryan. Binged season One in a week, started Season two.
Started Hillary on Netflix - I love political documentaries and this one does not disappoint. Also as a millennial I really did not appreciate all the things she did in the 1990s - so it boggles my mind even more that the US elected Trump over her. Also, as a father to be and expecting a daughter, this story gets me even more on a personal level now.
Homecoming - I think I mentioned this earlier in this forum, still haven't finished it yet because we started Jack Ryan and Hillary.
Bummer that Big Brother Canada is cancelled - but will catch the last episode tomorrow.

Is This is US and Homeland coming back to Netflix? Keep reading that This Is Us gets so much better but sadly the most recent seasons are not up yet :(

great. like a lot of series things start to fray a bit towards the end but mostly it maintains its power and its very interesting how it keeps up with the times as the 60s unfold.

This is a good time for anyone who hasn’t watched the greatest show of all time, The Wire, to watch it.

I think Better Call Saul is currently the best show at the moment, that hasn’t finished yet. So there’s another option.

True Detective and Westworld are up there too.
