We won't be under 1000 deaths a day for many weeks now, likely an entire month or more. No stopping that from happening now. Florida about to get it for real. My aunt just got it in Palm Bay. Never traveled anywhere before. Just works and comes home.

And as far as political posts in this thread go, as I've gotten a PM from someone I suspended, if you were warned PRIOR to the thread getting locked for 3 days and continued the discussion, you were given a 3 day, no matter what side you were on. There were in thread warnings and PM'd warnings that were defied, thus you get a 3 day.

Now, this is obviously one of the biggest events in our lives collectively, and we're affected by decisions the government makes, and because of that, this thread will always get political to a degree, so I don't mind there being political posts every now and then (whether in support of the administration or not), as long as there are practical/non-personal posts towards each other and obviously still discussion about the virus. Someone supporting or attacking Trump is not an attack on you personally. (Obviously, a person supporting someone who has implemented policies that hurt you is an indirect attack, but I digress!)

I will say that I don't understand people that need to run to the blind defense of any government like they're your family member. They really don't care about you. Left, right, they all say things that sound good but all of them sell you false hope. Trump is getting a lot of the blame because he is the current president of the country, and two, he's a jerk and brash. Who else is it going to go to? Are you going to blame T-Mac for the 2019-2020 Magic season? If Clinton or Biden were the president and they botched it badly, they would be getting reamed by the right and many on the left, and those defending someone doing such a poor job on the left would be just as hypocritical as those on the right defending every move Trump makes now. I do think there are some people in government that are well meaning and have done important work to try to help every American, but you can't please everyone. Not everyone wants help, not everyone makes the best decisions for themselves, we are our own worst enemy.

And lastly, the past 20 years there have been a lot of "If you don't like this country, leave!" sort of feelings among people that are patriotic and love the country and don't want to improve it. Cool. You can feel this country is perfect, but that's not the reality for many Americans, especially after watching how we've handled this virus so far, and how poorly things are currently going for many of us.

If you are thin skilled and can't handle the president being criticized from people on the right and the left, which is a freedom afforded to us that many country's citizens do not have, hey, maybe this country isn't for you!

NY is scary because it's so dense and we've done a lot of testing and confirmed so many have it, Florida is scary for a whole different reason in that we all know the numbers are way higher there than reported, probably more so than any other state. DeSantis needs to step the **** up.

The Publix delivery app might be safer. I'm going to give it a try tomorrow. It's says 3.99 to deliver to me, but I'm only a mile from Publix.

There's no Publixes up here but I have been using online delivery apps. However, sometimes the places don't have the stuff I need, so if there's a lot of gaps I have to fill in, I usually just pop in my nearest store for a few minutes and get what I need and leave. Hopefully the next delivery will have more stuff available.

In the model they're using it says mid May that we'll get back under 1000. Listened to Carl Bergstrom that created the model and he said, that was the best case scenario. He shocked Chis Hayes when said it could still get out of control and infect 50% of the population and kill over a million people.

Drive thru testing at the convention center is now open to all ages (previously had to be 65+). Still have to have a fever with respiratory symptoms or have pre-existing conditions.

Still a 10 day wait on the results you think?

for the locals

A heat map made by the county shows these are the areas (zip codes) in Orange County that are considered hot spots for the virus:

32801 - downtown Orlando
32822 - Azalea Park
32839 - Edgewood, Holden Heights, Oak Ridge and Pine Castle
32837- Hunters Creek
32824 - Meadow Woods, Southchase and Taft
32828 - University Park and Alafaya

I got a voicemail on my phone that said they now sent up 2 tents in the parking lot at work and everyone must get their temperature taken before they enter the building to work. I thought the voicemail said it can't be 104F but than I went into my work APP and it said 100.4F. So I think if anybody comes to work and has a temperature of 100.4F that they are sent home.

I've been doing a little light reading on the structure of the virus itself. It seems that the virus can be broken up before it takes root in your body. Ozone machines which oxygenates particles and makes them heavy normally, can have the same effect on this virus. Follow the guidelines of this type of device however, because ozone can have a harmful effect on the body as well. Don't use it while in the room at the same time, same with pets and plants. It can destroy living cells also, but its one way to clean a room that may contain the virus.

The information that's most useful that I wish to share however, is this virus hates heat. No, the sun won't kill it, but elevated temperatures can break the virus up and destroy the protein spike structure. Typically this virus will live on the back of your throat for the first couple of days, then move to your sinus cavities, then to your lungs. This is one reason you are infectious without being symptomatic for the first two or so days before you contract the disease. Its also why there is a usual loss of taste and smell with this. So, drink hot liquids a couple times a day, once in the morning, and again in the afternoon. It could help destroy the virus before it has a chance to move through your body. Its also why you don't typically get this from ingesting food. The food is cooked at high temperatures which destroys the virus, and even if you do ingest it, your stomach acids will break this up as well. That's why take out food orders are okay. The only worry you have are the containers. Treat those as you would with any other package. Food preparers are going to use good hygiene, gloves etc. You may get a sick cook, but highly unlikely in this hyper aware climate. None of this has been recommended by the CDC, or specific extensive research, but pieced together with available information that's currently out there. Also, up your intake of Vitamin D, C, and get a good colostrum, some of which has already been discussed. Hope this helps, stay safe. :D

Edit: Gargling with Listerine, or similar product, can be beneficial as well.

Wow, I mean sounds like they will be able to get those quicker than medical supplies.

My work started that 3 weeks ago. Make sure whoever is taking your temp knows how to use the thermometer, and make sure you have an oral thermometer at home. I found the oral thermometer superior in every way.

Anything above 99 degrees should be worrying. A low grade fever is enough for me to dismiss patients in my office.

Update: whatever I had was not covid. My respiratory panel has not come back yet. So whatever is in my lungs is not that.

I was wrong. Had myself convinced. It's the sickest I've been in my adult life. Maybe I'm just getting old. Time to not rely on immunity.

Yeah, no Wheaties box for you. And, ALWAYS rely on your immunity. You just need to take better care of it, but I get what you're saying.

I'm sure most of these posts are directed at me. So I'll reply. But I just find it funny that all I said was "lol at this thread" and everyone is all up in arms. Some people definitely are thin-skinned, but it sure isn't me.

Trust me, as a conservative, I have to have a thick skin to enjoy most forms of media now. The NBA, NFL, and MLB are all liberal and almost all shows and movies are as well. I love all the CW's DC shows and they cannot be any more SJW if they tried. Marvel heading in that direction as well and it doesn't really bother me.

Nothing from this thread bothers me. Was literally just laughing at the fact that some people are thinking of moving because of this virus and the handling of it even though it's a world issue and most places are mishandling the situation. Not sure where you would go to avoid this.

If I'm being real, this is just an excuse or a "free pass" at attacking the president for some. I see through it. Though some Libs here will certainly fight me on that point, but I've seen it and gone through this before. This is my only post on the matter as I already said I don't care what people say as long as it's civil and no one attacks me or conservatives as a whole. I just found it funny. Again, I'll only be here to read on actual informative posts like nymets1 update posts.
