I kind of wish he did have it so he doesn't have to worry about catching it again (this strain at least), especially if his lungs are compromised. I mean personally that's how I'd feel, not sure how he feels about it.
Part of me also wonders what else he could have? Sounds like a viral infection but it's not Covid and it's not the flu (I think he mentioned that before). What other virus is out there that can knock someone out for a few weeks?
I think a lot of people will be suffering psycho-symptomatic cases over the next few months. That's not an attack on anyone, it's just part of the human condition. There's so much attention on this thing that many people will convince themselves they have it and even manifest symptoms without having the virus. My friend just got a flu vaccine the other day and then started complaining about chest pains and difficulty breathing. That's not even a side effect you're supposed to get from the flu shot. Last week she had a sore throat that went away in a day or two.
Who knows, maybe she has the rona and just hasn't been tested for it? Or there's a good chance she doesn't and she has just brought these symptoms on to herself. I've worked with the paramedics and have seen how many people confuse panic attacks for heart attacks and strokes. People really have the capability of inducing their own symptoms without an actual foreign body as the root cause.
Either way, if she were adhering to proper medical advice, she shouldn't have gone into work this week if she'd just had a sore throat last week, and she shouldn't be going in today if she's had a cough for the past few days. But, she has. Someone who was panicking just two days ago about maybe having coronavirus is now taking themselves back to work, convinced she doesn't have it now. Those are the sort of things that frustrate me.
