Asian supermarkets. Nobody is going to those stores anyway out of fear.

Ontrio's numbers are whack.

We are currently testing LESS people than there are people who tested positive for Covid-19

The Star says it is an increase of 101, but I have pics from the City’s site yesterday and there are numerous articles from yesterday saying the total was 986 on Friday. So weird!

He wrote

C.D.C. says all Americans should wear masks

And they didn't, they said

CDC recommends people should wear face masks if they are in areas where social distancing it a difficult

Completely different. It's pathetic that you have an issue with that, considering I am posting the truth (what CDC said) and you have no issue with someone making something up. It's hilarious that you call me out for calling people pathetic, in which I never have. Again more bull, you guys sure are accumulating a mound of it

Why would you wear a mask when you aren't around people? It goes without saying that masks are to prevent transmission between people.

I agree why would you

They determine social distancing at 6ft where your are not at risk of transmission.

So what is so wrong about me saying why wear a mask if you are able to social distance. I literally already said the exact thing this CDC statement said to wear one if you can't social distance

Because the 6ft distance isn't actually being followed perfectly in grocery stores, queues outside of stores, even on the sidewalks. Nor are some people social distancing at all. I know plenty that think they are social distancing yet leaving their house to see their SO's (who dont live with them), family members outside their home, etc.

I support the fear mongering media at this point because for some people, they just don't get it. I guess they need to be scared straight to follow a simple rule.

Scared Straight does not work. And iirc "participants" are much more likely to be re-incarcerated after the experience.

I met up with my SO yesterday to go for a walk. Didnt hug or kiss and kept a 6ft distance the entire time. You can still have a bit of a life and social distance at the same time as I have been doing.

I personally don't get this entire social distancing thing. Truth be told I couldn't care less if I died from the disease. We live in a world where there is no empathy and everyone spews hate. It's really amusing to me how much people care about their lives and health. If it's meant to be, it's meant to be.

I went to Walmart today. 25 person limit, workers making sure people stayed in line 6ft apart. I had no issues.

I walk my dogs around the neighborhood and in public areas twice a day. People move aside or I'll move aside. Walking past someone on the sidewalk (or an aisle) is also not a risk unless they literally cough or sneeze onto you.

I've had one incident in nearly 3 weeks where one person was within 6ft, but still not long enough or close enough that it was a real risk and funny enough he was wearing a mask.

I'm more worried about infecting my parents who are up there in age and are at that vulnerable age. I'm sure a lot of people share the same concerns. My biggest fear is me being the reason my parents end up in the ICU.

If more and more people thought like this rather than themselves than I think people will respect the whole social distancing thing.

It’s actually weird why people aren’t going to Asian supermarkets out of fear. Yes the first cases of the virus in Ontario and Canada in January were from those that travelled from Wuhan. But really most cases over the past 2 months have been travellers from the US and Europe. Yes, back in January which seems like long ago, asians were doing their own contact tracing through Chinese social media and knowing where those patients went to buy groceries (since the government wasn’t doing much at that time). But basically the majority of cases now don’t trace back to Asia anymore.

In addition, all the Asian supermarkets, 100% of customers AND staff wear masks and if you don’t you might be kicked out so I would assume it’s safer. Contrary look at the Weston Rd Longos in Vaughan. A week ago they reported 2 staff tested positive. Then TODAY they reported 7 more of their staff tested positive. A week ago rarely anyone would wear masks at this location. I’m sure more people do now as a result of the government finally changing their tune and telling the truth

That's mostly in the online world. Off line, most folks are still quite decent.

Exactly on the spot.

Say you don’t wear a mask and you go out and you are sure you have been at least 6ft from everyone. You haven’t been tested but you actually have the virus but are asymptomatic. You go to a grocery store and someone calls you and you pick up the cell phone while you are looking for a box of strawberries. While you talk on the phone and choosing a good box of strawberries (touching a few) you use the F-word a few times and spit, or “droplets” come out of your mouth and lands on the strawberry boxes or in your cell phone which your hand touches and then you use your hand to touch the box of strawberries. You leave the strawberry area and another person comes behind, again no less than 6ft, grabs the box of strawberries that you had just touched and had droplets come out. A few days later that person develops covid-19 symptoms.

See my post above where Longos in Vaughan has now reported 9 staff testing positive over the past week.

If this is what the life it’s going to be for the next two years, as some models predict, and then every time there is a new virus and people lose everything except their pulse, that’s not much of a life anyway.

life is beautiful man. if you survive this and are free of any other major diseases, you are doing well in life. theres always a meaning to your life than just your pulse.

you know what people didnt have in 2019 that they have now? time. they were commuting and working 7-7. people were crying about not having enough time. parents are getting to spend time with kids they couldnt do for years.

yes we all have bills, but if this is all its going to be for two years, take advantage of the time you have. you can learn a new skill, language, musical instrument, master the math or chemistry you couldnt in high school or whatever.

of course there will be some challenges ahead, but best to be confident things will eventually get better.

i totally understand it will be difficult for extroverts who need to hang out with 60 people and party every week. i always kept a small circle.

but please dont take a **** vacation for everybodys sake.

I’ve been home for three weeks and 3 days now, so longer than most. And I’m not about to go on a “******* vacation” or start running around licking door knobs. So y’all are safe from me. LOL

But no, I will not be happy about it. I had to deal with cancer at 28 and that already gave me enough of a timeout from everyday life.

And consider the fact that not everyone was miserable in their pre-pandemic existence. Some of us have a way of working “7-7” and still managing make time for their families and other things.

So yes, doing “the right thing” and being thrilled about it do not have to go hand in hand. I fecking hate it and I’m not sorry.

How did you get to where you got to? I think that's what counts the most here. The fear isn't about people catching it in one to one situations but spreading it when out in the community. So if you took TTC well...
