Whom would you consider signing in FA?

On draft night, I would like to trade away DSJr. and Randle if possible to move up.

I think this Randle-Rozier trade rumor is legit and will only improvise on draft night or if the season is over. CHA may not have done that because may be they thought they could get into playoff this year. BTW the 1st round that they discussed is the LAC pick I think. Although I hate to see that 1st round go out of the door, I wouldn't mind seeing Rozier-Frank-Payton manning the PG position with RJ-Monk-Frank at the SG.

Thoughts?

I would love that but who would take that kinda deal, unless we were taking a worse contract back...maybe something like this with the twolves:

Julius Randle + Dennis Smith Jr + #27 and #38

for

James Johnson (will pick up his $16 MM player option) + Jake Layman + #16 (the pick minnesota go from in a trade - brooklyns pick)

with that #16 pick I would love to target Aaron Nesmith oir Saddiq Bey (I dont think either makes it to 27)

Twolves would maybe think Randle is more valuable than James Johnson dead contract and I believe they also at one point had interest in DSJ.

Malik Monk -

Terry Rozier -

I am ready bro.

Rozier/Frank/Elfrid
Monk/Frank
RJ/Dotson/Bullock/Iggy
Harkless/Knox/Wooten
Taj/Mitch

PLUS our picks this year. I think we can get into PLAYOFFs.

1) Offseason first moves:
A) Give up the rights of Wayne, Bob, Taj, Harkless.
B) Wait and see approach about Dotson and Trier Situation.
C) Try to draft a young PG with one of our picks and a wing with the other. We might use our own pick in Edwards or Deni. But its probable they already gone in our turn.

We would have:
PG: FRP/Payton/Frank/Dennis
SG: FA/FRP/Bullock
SF: Barret/Knox/2RP
PF: Randle/FA/Ignas/
C: Mitch/FA/Wooten
Cap Space: 40 MM + Room Exception

2) Offseason Second Moves:
A) We may trade for/sign a experienced PG like Rozier/Dragic/Fred/Conley. If we do that, we would get rid of Payton.
B) We will try to trade Randle if some team gives him neutral value. But I am pessimistic about that.
C) We cant have Frank and Dennis on the roster (two disappointing young PGs). We will make any deal to get rid of someone. The team would rather trade Dennis. But Frank has more value and we could get a more fair deal moving him.
D) I dont think we will get any RFA targets like Ingram or Beasley.
E) I dont think any team would offer FRPs for our cap space. There are few stars available and the great FA attractive teams dont need cap space or dont have bad contracts.

3) Final Moves.
A) getting a strech 4 like Bertans/Wood/Grant
B) getting a experienced Big like Whiteside/Gasol/Ibaka
C) getting a good wing shooter like Furkan/Joe Harris/Justin Holiday or Dotson/Trier.
D) Trading for Lavine/Buddy/LeVert/Fournier if dont evolve our 2020 FRP, Barret or Mitch. Improbable.

Forget the playoffs. With Monk passing who knows what to his teammates in the lockerroom (and no I'm not talking about the coronavirus) they may not even make it out for the start of games.

Seriously though, it's mind boggling how anyone actually wants Malik Monk on this team.

Yeah he's old...and I've also heard that he's still a big prick.

That line up is I proposed is much better and I am NOT even taking consideration of our draft picks this year. If Monk is starting over Edwards (provided we get lucky to pick him) then that's different. Anyway enjoy reading through these posts.
In short, all I am saying is RJ-Brunson-Grimes-Quickley-Randle are the untouchables moving forward.

Do you guys think utah would do a Conley for Randle-Dsj trade? Perhaps a 3 team trade to send our guys to Charlotte and Rozier to utah.
Personally I'd love that even though it'd look like we're just giving them away for nothing. Conley is a good player on an expiring contract, great mentor for the young guys and fits well with everyone.
We all now that Both Randle and Dsj are practiclly worthless at this point, at least for us.
Honnestly I'd throw the hornets 2nd rounder tou get rid of them but i don't think it'd be necessary.

if we could get him for basically free because of the drug suspension I'd take a shot on him. Maybe they'll still take DSJ. We have no use for DSJ and they're probably fed up with Monk. I don't want Rozier though

i would be expecting him to be similar to julius randle but with higher 3pt%, worse rebounding worse passing and similar bad defense

but a stretch 4 would still be nice to have and we could really use the spacing. Lauri and Mitch seem like a good fit at 4 and 5 Mitch can cover his defensive deficiencies and Lauri could space things out better for RJ and Mitch plus he will be another perimeter threat for LaMelo to kick it out to. (We're getting LaMelo).

I suspect the bulls might want too much for him and I doubt we'd really trade for him but who knows

It would be awesome if we did and he takes a dump on KP in the garden next year
