what was that?
I mean, both raw and smackdown could show some matches AND footages of past ppvs, but this episode of nxt brought nothing to the table. only the gargano and ciampa feud and one old takeover match????
that is definitely not a wednesday war. it is only a wednesday :banghead:

Well that's about the worst NXT show i've seen.

No idea what that was but I hope they never do that again.

Well, they advertised it as such.

One of AEW's biggest mistakes was not going after Shotzi Blackheart hard enough, she would be absolutely perfect as their "anti-diva". What a great performance from her tonight.

I heard the one from Wednesday sucked but other than that he's basically had more amazing matches than just about anyone has under the WWE umbrella.

I even liked the match on Wednesday. It was creative and told a story with a twist, and nowadaze - ya can't do the same old stuff. We saw that with the Edge/Orton match - which was somewhat similarly based but not at all creative and a flop - despite both guys giving everything they had.

I love Gargano matches.

When Gargano said "You lose" - I thought that was a great moment.

Swerve vs Tozawa was brilliant.

You can remove the "WWE umbrella" part and still be correct, Gargano has been one of the best in the world for the past 2 years.

Certainly true. He's been a part of more classic NXT Takeover matches than anyone too between DIY and his singles career. The only guy who probably comes close is Ciampa, although Cole has put together a pretty compelling resume too, which has been a really pleasant surprise because I always considered him to be a more mid-tier worker and a top-tier talker.

To me, Adam Cole is the guy iMoreland thinks Gargano is. I mostly like his matches but he's a lot closer to intolerable than anyone else on the roster.

I just don't think I like the NXT way of main event matches anymore. They're too long and they kick out of everything. They're both great wrestlers, but in no way should they be kicking out of some of the stuff they've kicked out of. I don't remember specifics, but there's been numerous times when I'm watching a takeover main event and just lose interest because they're kicking out of every single big move.

I'm not saying I prefer the WWE style, where they just spam finishing moves at each other. There's gotta be some middle ground between that and NXT's way. That's what I prefer.

The perfect match to me is HBK/Undertaker at WrestleMania 25. No finisher spamming, no endless kickouts. That match should've set the formula.

I totally agree that NXT matches, and wrestling matches in general, have a tendency to kick out of ridiculous moves and I dislike that. But I can still enjoy some of the crazy good NXT matches even if that can annoy me a bit.

So I guess they're confident the allegations against Velveteen Dream aren't true if they're still advertising him for the NXT title match next week.

Next week's card

• Adam Cole (c) vs Velveteen Dream
• Charlotte Flair (c) vs Io Shirai
• Johnny Gargano vs Dominik Dijakovic
• Killer Kross debut

Sheesh

Seems like a great card. If only there was allowed a crowd.

I'll watch for the Charlotte/Io match, but NXT just isn't clicking with me lately, and it's a turnoff for them featuring Dream so prominently at this point.

Gargano/Dijakovic seems like something I'd be interested in watching.
