Jalen Green To Enter NBA/G League Professional Pathway Program

Post#1 » by RealGM Wiretap » Thu Apr 16, 2020 3:09 pm

Jalen Green will enter the NBA/G League's professional pathway program.

Green is considered the top prospect int he 2020 high school class.

Auburn, Memphis, Oregon, Florida State, USC and Fresno State were some of the college programs vying for Green's commitment.

The G League professional pathway program launched in October 2018 as a program that paid $125,000 to prospects as an alternative to college basketball. Green will be joining an enhanced version of that program.

Green is expected to be one of the top picks of the 2021 NBA Draft.

Applaud the G League for stepping up and establishing a viable alternative to the NCAA.

Incredulous how the NCAA can make billions of of student athletes yet deem them ineligible for the most insignificant "violations" of student athlete conduct (i.e. congratulatory calls, recruiting stickers).

Big wake-up call to the NCAA & international leagues - kudos to the G League Commissioner, Shareef Abdur-Rahim, & NBA Commissioner, Adam Silver, for their forward thinking strategies.

And congratulations to the future basketball generations - more opportunities / alternatives to pursue your dreams!

Good for him and Isaiah Todd as well. Hope more prospects follow suit.

It’s about time, let these young talents learn to chuck threes in the G league rather than “developing “ in the NBA. No other Big league sport has fans watching players who are not ready.
