The new Fiona record is indeed fire. I went into it with a sort of mandatory listening listening mindset, but it is great. There's records I'll like and do like more than it, but it's tremendo zeitgeisty. Yeah, there is a lengthy Chones on Jazz post coming up directly related, but the new Fiona...get on that, compadres.

Currently working happily away, headphones on and listening to Hounds of Love. This is one of my favourite all time albums, I hadn't listed to it in years!

Have you listened to the Futureheads version of that song? Really enjoyable.

I had not, and I just did. Thanks, I enjoyed it- I somehow hadn't listened to Futurehead at all before and I'm not listening to their first album whilst pottering around making dinner.

Ratatat's debut album has stood the test of time, pretty rare for for electronic music I feel. Crystal Castles debut, Flying Lotus: 1983 and Los Angeles, and STS9: Artifact can say the same as well.

Inadequate perception I reckon it's from the Valium

Threw this on a playlist when it was posted and I like it a little more with every listen (which has been frequent lately).

I think I posted maybe on this thread or a previous one that like 4-5 months ago I threw the original album on and man, it still has it.

They released a cover yesterday of The Weeknd's "Blinding Lights."

My beloved and I usually have a few too many drinks on a Friday night and an unplanned little dance party in the kitchen whilst cooking (and then a very, very late dinner that drives our son a tad bonkers). I have come to the conclusion that, cool indie rock cat that I am, I cannot have a few drinks, a little dance and not somehow try to sneak some Hot Chocolate on.

Albums to listen to with headphones update: catching up on some work on a beautiful, beautiful Saturday morning (it's fine, my choice!). I'm listening to The The's Mind Bomb and I'm pretty sure people up and down the street must be able to hear my foot tapping away.

I know the Blue Album is regarded as Weezer’s best work but give me Pinkerton any day of the week. Straight forward guitar rock without pretentiousness.

Tried of Sex, Why Bother, The Good Life, El Scorcho. Yes!

I have been watching bits and pieces of Radiohead’s shows they’ve been putting up during stay at home, but man...Bonnarroo ‘06. The superior version of Videotape...a great show. I was supposed to go to that one but it fell through. Might’ve been their best.

My "what is this world?" day yesterday went like this;
start working on urgent item for work
    1. put on "suggested for you" playlist on Spotify
    2. get 15 seconds into this song and go "who is this?" and check the artist
    3. get 30 seconds into this song and google the artist
    4. inish listening to the song
    5. when song finishes spend $90 to buy this album on vinyl import through my local record store (about $20 more than buying direct from label)
    6. stop and think "I feel like maybe $90 was too much?"
    7. realise I missed the deadline for that urgent item
    8. think "I don't think I can really afford to start paying $90 for an album?"
    9. daydream out the window (it's Autumn/Fall here, I have a maple right outside my window)

Along the lines of me and I think a few others posting that Ratatat’s self-titled album still holds up upon a random listen...

Just realized RAC released a new album last week. It’s meh.

But that made me go back to listen to RAC’s “Strangers” once (and 10 subsequent) times. The whole god damn thing is just so catchy 6 or so years later.
