They may not get the first 5 without him. He made some great moves to build a champion.

they probably win 7 titles...if they fire krause after the rodman trade and the kerr signing

Different times, different times indeed.

Objectivel though, jokes aside, they were simply different times. The league is just so much more lucrative now, that these star players are businesses all on their own, thus the stakes are so much higher.

As much as I hate load management, I understand why it's a big deal now and wasn't back in the day.

when the bulls found out that jordan had secretly been playing while injured, they should have hired someone to break his hand while sleeping

i'm being facetious, but there's a kernel of truth. absolutely no way he should have been permitted to play the remainder of that season

Makes me reflect on the type of organization Garpax had been trying to run the past 15 years.

Krause was great GM, but like Kerr said, he couldn't get out of his own way.

Krause wanted to be bigger than the Bulls and his arrogance clouded his judgment.

First two episodes exceeded my extremely high expectations. Couldn't believe how fast those two hours flew by.

It's hilarious that Krause already picked Tim Floyd from Iowa State to be his next head coach before the season had even started and the exact same thing happened years later with Gar/Hoiberg.

MJ - Jon snow- the 1993 retirement being a clear analogy with the lord commander no spoiler. They are both the obvious hero of the story.

Scottie Pippen - tyrion Lannister. Painfully underappreciated. But none of this is possible without him. Rebels against his "superior"/"lord" (krause/reinsdorf).

Krause/reinsdorf - joffrey/tywin Lannister. These two are obvious a clear villains. Krause with the undersized "napolean complex" joffrey. And reinsdorf the overseeing lord, with the money and supposed "wisdom" yet clearly not seeing the bigger picture/valuable allies, as tywin. They fought a losing battle from early on and we all saw it coming.

Sorry for the analogies, but for me this is the most captivating content put out since GoT.

That detachment helped him trade Oakley away and build a championship. Him being bullied and feeling like he wasn't getting enough respect from Phil Jackson, the players and media was him being too attached emotionally.

Nobody's perfect so I don't want to villianize him too bad. They may have never gotten a single championship without him for all we know.

The blame should be put on ownership. They had a choice between Michael Jordan/Phil Jackson or Jerry Krause but chose their friend. Ownership should be chased down with pitchforks but this documentary is putting it all on the GM so far

For real....made me feel like 10 hours won't be enough time.

Even though this is the Bulls title run and other players, coaches, FO, are touched on....through 2 episodes it is clear this is Michael's story. Not complaining...

Thoughts

-Michael Jordan...gasp...using the 'f' word!

-See a lot of the tension between management and the players who just want to do nothing more than play; it's kind of an irony because players nowadays tend to be blamed for 'being in it for the money'

-Episode 2 with Scottie Pippen: As a 13-year old 8th grader, living in LA, without really following the team on the internet yet, I didn't really get how close Scottie was to leaving. I do remember all that initial losing though, but I didn't think too much of it.

-Realized I have never ever seen any Scottie Pippen documentary or anything close to that; the footage of him from Central Arkansas, all new stuff for me. Always took for granted how important he was, and the Jerrys took full advantage of his situation. I guess the start of that season showed just how critical he was. LOL, not like we don't know what happened, but it'll be interesting to see how Pip internally resolved this and edged his way out of saying that he was not going to play for the Bulls again. I don't remember.

-Ben Gordon was a talent, and he had a handful of parallel key games that MJ had. Not saying that he was anywhere close, but that he was a very faint whisper of what MJ brought. That key Pacers game in 1986 en route to the playoffs is reminiscent of a key Pacers game in 2005 en route to the playoffs in which BG rallied the team down by 20. Game 2 against the Celtics in 1986 was the Game 2 against the Celtics in 2009. To me, BG's ouster was just a sign that Garpax had 0 eyes for identifying a winning piece to a championship team.

There was a guy that said Krause had "little man syndrome" and I agree with that sentiment. Krause clearly felt jealous over MJ and crew getting the majority of the credit and because of that jealousy he ended the dynasty. What pisses me off is that Reinsdorf chose Krause over MJ and crew.

Krause made some shrewd moves and we know what they are, but he also made some misguided decisions, ie Baby Bulls.
