Patience. The season hasn't technically even ended yet. Now isn't the time for players to make exit plays.

Once things settle people are going to look at their options.

There is simply no way that agents with leverage clients are going to look at a starless NY market (under a new GM) and not flip that card on the table at the first instant.

At a minimum, even floating the notion, get the client some attention and a new offer from current employer.

I think Booker will stay in Phoenix. They seem to be on the right track. I can see Lavine wanting out of the Bulls though. Will be interesting to see how the new Bulls FO buils around Lavine.

I don't consider this guy as a star but I can see the Knicks potentially trading for Myles Turner. I had high hopes for Turner to be one of the best 2 way bigs in the league but he's been underwhelming. Maybe the Knicks trade for him cause of his potential.
“The active phone conversations for Indiana could be a sign of what’s to come this summer. Rival executives believe the Pacers will eventually break up their big man trio of All-Star Domantas Sabonis, Myles Turner and rookie Goga Bitadze. Turner is the name most rival executives believe will be traded, and the Cavaliers were among the teams who called to do due diligence on his availability before they landed Andre Drummond from Detroit.”

I wouldn't be against that move. He's not on a max deal and he'd cost less assets than Towns and actually plays defense. Probably could play with Mitch some too.

book is a monster. his FG% is way better than it should be. really good rebounder and passer. offensively everything you want in an SG.

if i were gonna take a one-sided player... it'd be this guy.

This is actually my dream acquisition. Which means, of course, it won't happen.

He's definitely the best of that group but with Ayton in town, who knows if he'll actually ask out. The thing is he's going to cost the most assets and it can turn into another Melo situation.

I doubt he asks out at all. It would have to be for "other than basketball reasons" anytime soon, unless I'm lacking imagination. Phoenix just seems better off in the current and near future.

He's Harden 2.0 Eerily similar career trajectory.

It'd be ridiculous if we could somehow get Book in here.

They've just got a guy and potentially another one in Ayton, that's why it seems that way. If we get a couple pieces in place, it's possible that a guy like Booker will want to take up the challenge of the city like Melo did. Hopefully whoever we draft will be apart of the core with RJ and Mitch and we start moving forward.

kevin knox is such a better athlete than rashard lewis. that's kind of insulting on that front.

obviously if he could shoot like lewis, he'd be something. that's a mighty lofty goal.

Hmm I don't have time to find it but a poster brought up how Lewis didn't look that good in the beginning but took a leap.

6'10 tweener
10 to 14 points per game
3 to 5 rebounds a game
Above 40% from three, or at least shoot well enough to be a consistent threat

He doesn't have to be a star, but if he cannot even develop into a complimentary piece, then wtf man
Tim thomas had guard skills. Look, Knox was a project everyone knew this. We just have to wait because we cant get anything for him anyway.

Booker is def worth going in for, but I am not expecting him to be available anytime soon.

This guy really likes the hire. It sounds like Aller is great working the cap and creating deals. The Cavs had the most 3-team deals over the past few years.

Now, as long as we can put that to good use. But always good to have a smart and creative cap guy.

i think myles turner is being used far less than his capabilities. but i think he has embraced his more pointed role in IND. he could be an all-star type. would be a sneaky good get. big for a 4, but he can play that position and as a stretch.
RIP magnumt

thanks for everything, thibs.

I don’t think Perry going anywhere, a lot rumors of Mill and him not seeing eye to eye on building the team.

More info from Berman. Hints that Aller will help find a new GM and build the front office. Perry's contract expires June 30th, although they may end up keeping him around.

A good point about things changing on the fly with the shortened/canceled season. Good to have a smart cap guy who might be able to help us figure things out, especially with the adjusted cap.

Aller was financial planner/capologist with Cleveland, but a source said he’ll be “more than a capologist’’ under Rose. However, Aller is not the GM — a basketball-intensive position that remains up in the air.

Another person familiar with the situation said Aller would be regarded as sort of a “chief of staff’’ who would aid Rose in future hirings such as GM and in running finances.

It is unclear how the revenue losses stemming from the season’s suspension and possible cancellation will affect the front-office maneuverings. One source said hiring could be impacted and some contracts will not be renewed.

Aller has been with Gilbert for 12 years as a right-hand man, but only since 2014 in basketball operations. He was part of the management team that helped the Cavaliers end their championship jinx in 2016.

Aller was promoted to Cavs capologist in 2017 and is considered a Gilbert favorite.

“He’s probably one of the finer capologists in the league,” Gilbert said in 2017. “He knows more about the cap than probably PricewaterhouseCoopers knows about the IRS code. He lives with the cap, with the collective bargaining agreement. He comes up with ideas on things that the league has never heard of, they have to go into their committees to check if it’s OK or not. He’s sort of a savant with this.”

Scott Perry is the Knicks’ acting GM and could be retained in that role even though his contract expires June 30. The Knicks’ current capologist is Michael Arciero, who was brought in from Orlando with Perry.

Perry’s other scouts — assistant GM Gerald Madkins, personnel Harold Ellis and scout Fred Cofield — could face a shaky future.

As first reported by The Post, the Knicks last week did not renew the contract of consultant David Blatt, who worked with Aller in Cleveland.

that is bogus to me. He was hand picked by mills and we even gave up compensation to bring him in because they were suppose to work together. So he comes here and just is a puppet to Mills?

I don't buy that for one second...

Better believe that you don't bring in a capologist if you're looking to rebuild slowly, you bring 1 in if you're looking to wheel & deal.

Looking fwd to CP3, some other disgruntled star, TRex, and Melo in NYC next year.
