Don't you think his shooting will be a concern?

That is his for sure his biggest weakness, but he is shooting over 80% from the line and makes a fair volume of 3s albeit inefficiently. Plus his jump shot doesn't look broken to me he has a nice quick release that he shoots with confidence off the catch or off the bounce.
Also, our FO seems to be confident in their ability to teach shooting, so if that's his biggest weakness with a good base to build on top of it doesn't scare me. I do find his mindset and defense appealing to our team's culture + his strong driving ability as a ball-handler is something we could use.

This is the classic upside pick as his numbers were nothing special, but the physical abilities and being only 18 makes him really interesting.
Comparing Williams to Paul Reed is like they are opposites Reed has dynamic numbers (2 blks 2 stls averaged last season) and solid progress over his collegiate career. Whiles Williams is nothing jaw dropping off the page.
Eye test tells me that Reed is solid, but is not the most fluid athlete and is not likely to dominate as he did in college.
Williams in his play look way more dynamic and fluid as a big man. Can this guy be a SF and PF?
I think Williams should stay at Florida State for another year, but knowing the NBA this guy will get picked in the first round based on upside.
Curious if Masai would like a project like Williams. It could be Anunoby or it could be Bruno all over again.

I think he's closer to Anunoby than Bruno, unless he has negative bball IQ like ice belly.

If we end up with Reed or Smith ill be very excited. I really like Smith for some reason. Good chance Reed will be off-board.
I like Smith but I hear he's not a very good defender other than the blocks. He might get destroyed on switches.

I like Terry but his defensive upside and his ball handling are big question marks for me. Maybe I'm underrating his offence but the Raptors don't have the right personnel to take advantage of his strengths and cover his weaknesses.
He would fit best on a team with a master playmaker like Lebron or Doncic, or in a motion offence like the Warriors. Also the Raptors biggest identity is team defense and his lack of size and strength would make me really concerned whether he would be able to live up to the Raptors defensive standards.

There's a site that has him grown from 6'1-6'3. I've seen another that has him at 6'2. That's decent height.
He should be at least decent defensively like Curry and not like Trae Young.
If he ends up being like 6'3 (6'2 in shoes) he shouldn't make it past Orlando at #15 but maybe Philly at #20.
Terry is from Minnesota so the cold isn't a factor.![]()

What's a good comp for Smith and Reed? I see Smith as a bargain bin Anthony Davis or Poor man Ibaka? Maybe he surprises.

Adding my two-cents recommendation, I really like the scouting report and video on Grant Riller. On the surface a 6'3 combo-guard may not be our biggest need. But dig a little deeper, this guy immediately could provide us with a needed playmaking option and, in the long-run, put us in a better position for the post-Lowry era.
So many things scream a Raptors kind of guy - proven upperclassman, great advanced stats, translatable skills, sneaky upside. My biggest fear is other analytics-heavy front offices, who are picking before us, may be on him too.
A great breakdown of his game was provided at The Stepien: https://www.thestepien.com/2020/03/30/case-grant-riller/
Found this on theStepien as well.

He looks really good. He'd be a perfect fit for the Raptors as our backup primary ball handler. If he can become a defender, he has potential to be a starter.
I'll take a closer look but I think I am on board with Grant Riller. He checks all the boxes to be a successful guard on the Raptors.

The more I watch Grant Riller play, the more I want the Raptors to draft him. He looks tailor made for our offense. His game reminds me of Fred Van Vleet quite a bit. His shot isn't as good as Fred but he has more size, faster first step, and better handles. Since he has handles of a primary ball handler and has solid size for a guard, he can probably play in the backcourt with any of our guards (Kyle, Fred, Norm , TD, McCaw).
He is an absolute stat stuffer too. I was expecting mostly just lots of points and not much else statistically but he does it all.

I'd definitely be much happier with CJ Elleby over Tyrell Terry. Elleby's size gives him a path to a two way player.
