We gave up a lot.... uhmmm should I be happy??? The only thing worth mentioning is that he has very long arms and a good double move guy.... is he a vertical threat? Speed threat? What separates him?

Runs 4.5 in the 40. Scouting report calls him above average route runner with a good burst and is "fast enough" to be a vertical threat.

What does Aiyuk do well? I’m honestly asking, he has long arms, double move guy... what else? Want to be thrilled but more ehhhh

NFL.com lists his strengths and weaknesses as:

Strengths
Can feast off of off-man coverage
Rapid foot turnover into routes
Flashed ability to manipulate corners away from his route
Bursts out of stems to open windows for his quarterback
Routes are linear but crisp and fast
Long arms and soft hands for above average catch radius
Ball plucker with quick tuck to transition into runner
First-down maker
Considered the YAK (Yards After King) in college football
Able to elude initial tackle and runs with elevated urgency
Instincts and open-field vision of a running back

Weaknesses
Not always ready for anticipatory throws
Will need to add physicality with his finesse
Could face early struggles against aggressive press-man
Bumpy downfield coverage throws him off-kilter
Average vertical separation
Gained a chunk of receiving yardage on catch-and-run throws
Inconsistent catching through clingy coverage

Ughh the negatives no bueno... I think almost all are WRs share some similar cons

Who are you referring to? Hurd? Aiyuk is faster than Crabtree. Draft Network's scouting report on his speed says "Plenty of juice. You get him in the open field and let him open up his strides and he's going to blow you away." You must be thinking of a different Michael Crabtree because that's not the scouting report I would have given him.

This FO and the trading up kills me. You work the draft by letting the value fall to you. Not by targeting specific players and overpaying for them. They do this every year. I'm SHOCKED we didn't trade up for Samuel last year, when we clearly should have traded back and still taken him. We needed that fourth round pick to bolster the roster.

And we made it to the Super Bowl when nobody thought we could. Let's give them the benefit of the doubt.

By laying out a ton of money when we were in a great cap situation. And "lucking out" that our expensive QB got injured and we were able to land the DROY. We have now blown through that cap space in impressively quick fashion and need to build through the draft. And I'm not convinced this is the way to do it. We traded UP for a WR in a historically deep WR draft. It's absolutely the wrong approach.

I have no problem with them drafting Aiyuk, he seems a lot like Deebo but probably faster. That 4.50 is not his real speed, he got that with a core injury. I just don't like the trade, seems like they gave up more than they needed to. Kind of reminds me of when they traded up for Pettis, except this time I don't hate the player too. I think there's a good chance he was still there at 30 and if not there were a lot of other good WR options. Once again they're showing how they fall in love with guys and will move to take them.

Well one good thing is Richie James should no longer be on return duty. If so, there really isn't much of a reason to keep him on the roster.

Also, Kyle did a marvelous job scheming ways to get the ball into Deebo's hands, he probably has visions of doing the same with Aiyuk.

Still, not liking what the 9ers have done in this first round at all. Worst yet, they have precious little ammo remaining.

Hopefully they can trade Goodwin and at least one of the RB's for picks at some point this weekend.
