Funny that you think there will be a preseason and that if we have one there will be fans.

One thing is for sure, BG has really staked a lot on Love, not to mention Gary/Savage.

Three first round picks in two years, and trading down in the previous draft to get the extra one, gonna be hard to justify too much failure in these years and not be pissed going forward. A lot of currency on "way down the road" with little immediate impact.

Hey, just Love hits not even a issue, though.

Not a fan of this type of argument. A coach leaving a college for a bigger gig is a REALLY big deal for these somewhat smaller programs. Picking the stats of one game against one of the best teams in the nation is a bit unfair.

Again, NOT the move I would have made after extending Rodgers, but let’s not take it out on the kid drafted.

But if you were contemplating this why did you extend Rodgers? I am fairly certain you had him under contract for two more seasons anyways, what was the rush?

I think we have exactly two more seasons of Rodgers and I think they got cute trying to imitate that Chiefs.

Draft was really unkind, but I would have been fine with Queen. Here is hoping a WR drops to us in the second. And here is hoping we can flip Taylor for a third or fourth

This might be the best argument. If you're the Packers and were even thinking about an heir apparent in the next few drafts why would you extend Rodgers? I understand how players can slide in any draft and each year is different but they just extended Rodgers!
I'll take they weren't expecting a sharp decline in Rodgers play when they extended him 2 years ago so they decided to preemptively draft his successor when a guy they liked was in range of them for 500 Alex

Try 4-5 years. Gotta give the kid at least a year of starting before a call can be made.

Buckle up. Its going to be a wild ride

I don't think a raw QB prospect like Love should be a 1st round pick let alone one you trade up for, can't read coverages and very poor decision making but hey he can throw it deep on the run OOF! Maybe during these 3 years he'll learn to play QB, sitting on the bench will make him better I'm sure.

Miami got an extra pick making us look stupid. We could have gotten him at 30 easy. Any arm chair GM would have known that. Stupid. Gary and Love can play catch on the sideline while ARod tries to get to Superbowl with no help. Love might be a good player down the road but it might be 4 years from now.

Look at Love's 2018 tape. He was projected to be a top five pick off of it.

That Rodney guy has somehow convinced himself that he is more than some random guy on the internet spouting off his hot takes.

Don't know how people are screwing this up.

There was an obvious danger of a team in round two jumping back into round one to nab Love.

The Packers only had to give up a 4th to get the guy who they see is the obvious franchise successor to Rodgers.

It was a no brainer deal and one you had to make if you think that highly of Love.

Well hopefully by the time Love takes over he’ll have more to throw to than a 30+ year old Adams.

Hell, maybe the defense will even be elite

Right, but assuming those are games from this season, my point remains he lost his coach and probably quality recruits and had to learn a new system with less talent. AGAIN NOT what I would have done and simply saying don’t take it out on Love, not his fault, that is all.
