Thanks, you guys talked me off the Xbox ledge. Can't believe I almost thought about switching :D

I want to add that going forward, you might want to watch how Sony handles their exclusives. We’re getting Horizon Zero Dawn on PC this summer, and it’s possible some other titles could follow suit. If they start aggressively leveraging their titles on PC, you could potentially go just Nintendo and PC.

Holy ****, I had no idea. This is maybe my GOAT - can't wait to play on PC.

Yeah, was a surprise announcement about a month or two ago. I never bought a PS4 and it was one of the few games I considered buying one for, so I'm pretty excited.

My 3 kids, wife and I are all gamers so I just buy everything. No point in taking sides in the console wars when you have a house full of people that are playing 24/7. If I had to choose though, I'd only roll with PC.

I go PC for most games if possible, PS4 for exclusives and mainly because it's what ALL of my hs/college friends have, and Switch because I love it.

Question as someone who's never owned a PC. Do you guys sit at a desk and play? Because that would make it a non-starter for me.

Depends on the game. I bought a ton of the Lego games during a Steam sale and play those with my family through my Shield in my living room. I also like to play sports games while on my couch, on the big screen. Everything else though, I love sitting at my desk and playing.

Skyrim or sports games. Skyrim is huge and with pc you mods to alter the game are limitless. If you get it on system it's better on xbox if you ever want to use mods. Ps has way fewer. I only recently started playing phone games but there are games similar to classic side scrollers like Magic Rampage, Swordigo, Dan The Man. Kind of like Mega Man or Donkey Kong Country.

I have my PC hooked up to my TV and one of those coffee tables that folds out towards you, so it's basically like a couch-desk.

I do and it's wonderful IMO. But you don't have to.

ETA: I also have a super nice home office - because I work from it. I'd probably be less enthused to sit at my desk to game if it was just a desk shoved in the corner.

Yes. It sounds unappealing at first, but it quickly grows on you. Real nice when you can sit there and multitask with multiple monitors and a real good chair.

Listen to this man ^

A good chair is key. And if you don't want to sit, I highly recommend standing desks. I have a uplift desk and being able to adjust the height with a touch of a button is awesome.

Yep, standing gaming is great too. I made my current desk. My dad’s work was tossing old work benches a few years back and I grabbed one. I got a guy with some specialty gear to sand it, then added adjustable legs. Never adjusted it, but it’s nice to have the option.

I just love being able to have my game going on my one monitor and Hulu/internet for help going on the other. I even have my PS4 hooked up to my monitor on my desk. But like MikeisGood, I have a pretty slick home office with a HUGE desk and a nice comfy chair.

I keep getting distracted with side quests, Gwent and farming school gear. I fall into that trap everytime with Witcher.

Enjoying FF7 so far, but that Honeybee Inn minigame has to be one of the most obnoxious moments in gaming for me. Everything about it sucks.

Gwent was my favorite thing about W3 (as noted many times previously, the game was not for me despite how incredible the writing is). I really wanna play Thronebreaker. Been on my list for a while.

I got sidetracked. I don't know why I do this to myself. I started playing FF14 again and I can't stop.

I have a play-too-many-games problem.

XCOM: Chimera Squad has been pretty awesome for a $9.99 spinoff. While it’s not your permadeath XCOM, it’s still a very good tactics game. It’s more digestible compared to the last two games, giving it sort of an Into The Breach vibe. A lot of encounters are you clearing a single room and you need to choose the best way to use your tools to clear it in the most effective way.

Same. I haven't exactly hit a wall in Nioh 2, but I'm at a spot with an endgame boss rush that I feel like I have to be in the right mindset to tackle and I'm not there yet. Gonna switch between XCOM 2 (finally for the first time) and Inside for the next couple nights, maybe get back to Nioh later in the week.

I loved it, but it's certainly not for everyone. Not every beat landed, but I appreciated how much they went for it, and how hard they tried to do right by the setting, and characters.

Spoiler:
The original sequence, for as famous as it is, is terribly transphobic and homophobic, not to mention making light of human trafficking. I was so damn worried when they confirmed they were going to try it again, but while certainly not above reproach, I think they did a surprisingly good job with a lot of that stuff. What I've read from queer and trans community members, has largely been positive as well.
