And-1

What is not even mentioned is the RB; as it is almost an irrelevant position in today's American Football game. Look an elite Tightend is a more important target for the Bucs than a 4 YPC RB.

And to be fair, the Bucs backfield will be all about blocking for Brady, anyhow.

Even if they don't have a home crowd, most live within a few minutes of Disney and could go home every day. That would seem like an advantage.

This is up to Adam Silver and the players' Union and is all about getting 5-10 games on television so that the NBA can cash in their rights to pay.

The whole of the players would live in luxury hotels and be bused in to, I guess, Amway - for games that have ZERO fans in attendance.

In this scenario, the whole of the trainers, TV crews and all other persons would need to be similarly locked away.
It would be a luxury prison for all. But I am sure this idea flies well.

Would tv ratings be any good ? People thought that WWE would have boost in ratings because everybody is at home. Instad they are facing lowest rating in their history.
People are so wraped up in their own issues at home that nobody really watches tv all that much and sports feel like something that belongs to ancient history and afterthought.

No fans in arena also means no revenue from beverage, parking slots, on spot- merchandise sell, ticket sales...

This is an irrelevant question to Adam Silver, the Owners and the Players' Union. If all teams play another 5-10 game, the NBA gets paid by ESPN, TNT, FOX, etc. THE END. This is really the only point to this madness: avoiding lawsuits to get paid.

But let me reflect on your question, "Would tv ratings be any good?" Well, a lot of people are at home doing not very much. A proportion of those are sports fans looking for sports. I for one think the ratings could break all rating records.

Would Disney host this? That's a no-brainer.

Would Amway provide its arena facilities for let's call it 150 NBA games: one after the next (five a day and this can be done in a month)? Another no-brainer.

I think this will happen; either in Orlando or Las Vegas. The mass availability of luxury hotel suites in these two cities makes these the only two real options. But I cannot see it in Orlando.

Silver might be interested in testing out Vegas, as a future NBA host (The Vegas Kings sound nice actually).
And this is a truly neutral site whereas the Magic would be "at home" for all games (not that home-court matters in an empty arena).

My prediction:

Just watched "Fighting with My Family", which is currently on UK-Netflix. This movie is about the WWE star - Paige.

It was a shockingly good movie. One quote: Wrestling is not fake, it's fixed. Love that concept!

If the NBA is able to resume the season, it is appearing less likely that teams such as the Golden State Warriors play another game.

"Basically zero chance" predicted "someone in the know" who spoke with Anthony Slater of The Athletic.

This is beyond insane to me. Orlando was projected to increase win shares specifically because its forthcoming games are against garbage dumpster teams actively trying to lose. AWFUL.

This "NBA finishing out the season at Disney World" needs it's own thread. This is a huge possibility.

I believe the ratings would be great !

“The Last Dance” is the Most watched program on ESPN since the College Football National Championship in early January smashing their own predicted ratings.

Last weeks NFL draft broke records for viewership all three days it aired and was up 37% in viewership from last year.

Sports fans are starved right now.

It's a bad break for ORL but the world's in turmoil. From a selfish perspective, be glad we're not a bubble team on the outside looking in.

I hope they do 3, 5, 7 game series like the good ole days...It would be great for upsets, surprise game plans geared towards stealing games AND maybe Isaac is ready. The season's a bit of wash anyway, they should take the opportunity to fool around and try some things to keep it exciting (and somewhat brief).

Is the rumor that they're just going to start the playoffs after a few weeks of training? No more regular season? I agree that could actually lead to some surprising results.

It’s fake and it’s fixed. It’s not a sport and so it doesn’t satisfy the same cravings.

I can’t speak to how ratings would be effected if the season resumed, but I really doubt that wrestling ratings would offer any insight.

The NBA keeps pushing this idea of a mid-season tournament the last couple years, this would be the perfect time to do a trial with all 30 teams for the NBA crown. Give #1 seeds a buy and just start the thing up somewhere (vegas, orlando, hawaii). We don't need 5-10 test games or best of three series. Just do single elimination and give everyone a shot at the title this year since it's a unique situation that suspended the season.

I agree...go crazy! It’s a totally unique situation, it’s not fair to those that excelled all season, but...it’s a unique situation. A tourney would draw great viewership because your team can’t count on anything. There’d be upsets, young stars erupting, perhaps wild surprise game plans to upset better teams...that would be a low-risk blast. IMO, anything they put together at this point is playing with house money, so why water it down? Try something truly different and make some history
