Not a good pair when we got a slashing forward with a broken jumper who also loves to go left. I like Hayes though, but don't love him for the Knicks

No because their tv contracts say that 70 games in the min to get paid. So they are playing 70

I betcha there's a clause in that contract to cover "acts of God" which cut the season short. Just a hunch.

Why do we need another big that can’t shoot

Yeah, I tried to find some highlights of him shooting 3s and couldn't find any. Which is not to say that he can't. He seems to have a soft touch (no, not in the porn way) on his shot. Who do you want?

Edwards if we land the top pick And around the 6th range I really don’t know I’m not that excited about this draft. I think it has some nice depth but the top talents don’t really feel like top talents.

It’s a toss up between Hayes or cole. I’m not mad at hailburton either I just feel he’s a pick you make when you already have a good established team in place for him to slide into but his 3 point shooting would indeed be useful

I think even with a god clause , there is a gsme min that a larger/most of the payment kicks in the contract.

Those Kansas players are tough to figure out. Josh Jackson, Frank Mason, Cheick Diallo... I guess Devonte Graham has been good. Also, Terrance Newman? Where is he at? Could have sworn some people here thought he was D Wade lol.

And can someone explain to me why the would take Okongwu in the top 10? His highlights are identical to Noah Vonleh coming out...

vonleh was the 9th pick himself, he was a bust but players like that can go top 10. okongwu was arguably the best big in the ncaa last year

Just check through this thread and you'll see the consensus. But tankathon has him here:

and I dont disagree....there's at least 9 guys I would take ahead of him, maybe 11....

Outside of hailburton and Hayes none of these guys really make sense for the Knicks where I have them ahead of cole.

Hailburton is somebody you draft when you already have the the cereal in place and just need to add milk. The Knicks have no cereal you’d just be pouring milk into the bowl. It’s like the hawks taking hunter 4th they already have trae young and John Collins they have the cereal in place so they can get away with looking for compliment pieces that mesh with that.

Unless the Knicks are SOLD on RJ being that guy the Knicks should be aiming higher. And I like hailburton

—————————-

Hayes is intriguing. actually my favorite in the draft as far as point guards go. On the flipside he’s going to come with a learning curve and being patient with.. something the Knicks struggle with.

Some nice potential with Hayes he’s just not as nba ready as other guys

Who else is there really... trade down for maxey or mannion?

You asked about talent not fit. And on this team I think we need to draft for the former. So yeah based on talent I'm agreeing with Tankathon.

Not broken iIMO , he just needs reps, his form is fine,a great Free Throw shooter, and wrapped up his season shooting 39% from 3. When all is said and done I think Hayes' negatives are most fixable and his upside is near the top.

He just makes absolutely no sense for us.

Is he going to be better than Myles Turner? Clint Capela? Mitchell Robinson?

Just don’t see any special trait that makes me want the guy. Even his highlights are just his teammates finding him for open dunks lol.

Yeah, i don't see many stars in this draft. Looks more like a lot of solid players. A lot of these guys will probably be considered busts in the end, as per usual.

A lot of players I like still so we should at least have the opportunity to get a solid player....just not expecting a star in this one

I agree he doesn't make much sense for us and I personally wouldn't draft him if I were the knicks but I can see why he will be a top 10 pick for some other team

You do realize that the #1 pick gets around $12m for 4 years. You really think the Warriors are gonna pay Wiseman $12m/4 as an unfinished product and with their cap issues. Remember there are no a Luka or Zion in this draft.
Don't know...

Considering that they're very high on him and their main need is a C, yeah its a no brainer for them.

Connor Letorneau of the SF Chronicle said he heard the Warriors wouldn’t pick Wiseman if they had the No. 1 overall pick.

“According to multiple league sources The Chronicle contacted in the past few days, the Warriors — contrary to what mock drafts might suggest — aren’t believed to be high on two of the three players being mentioned as possibilities at the No. 1 pick: former Memphis center James Wiseman and point guard LaMelo Ball, who last played for the Illawarra Hawks of Australia’s National Basketball League. As one source put it, “I think they’d only take one of those two if they were trading down in the draft and taking them for another team.”

Smoke screen. It’s the worst kept secret that they’re going to draft Wiseman.
