It's going to be crazy when Nerlens signs with the Warriors and wins like 3 championships while we look at each other confused over why we can't even make the Finals.

He could be talking about current teammate Brandon Ingram. Because that basically describes him perfectly.

I never saw what others saw in regards to Covington's man-defense being overrated.

I always thought Covington was fantastic on the ball. The only times his man-defense waned was when he was dealing with known injuries. Every time he was healthy enough to get in the chair position, he was lockdown.

2008 Finals airing on ESPN.

I forgot how nasty Paul Pierce was this year. Probably his most dominant offensive season.

Just tried to listen to it again.

I think its roco because he described the player to be all league defensive 1st or 2nd team that can’t stay with nobody but can get to the basketball all the time (deflections).

For all the Westbrook being the modern day Iverson comparisons, I'm surprised it took me this long to notice that the similarities to the post-Westbrook Thunder to the post-Iverson Sixers. Veteran PG comes in and leads a team to overachieve with a good-but-not-good-enough-to-be-a-franchise player, an overpaid defensive center, a quality tweener forward, and a scoring bench guard to an unexpected playoff berth. Their situation might be a little different with all those picks they got from LA and Houston, but I'd be looking to dump guys while they can this summer rather than getting stuck in the middle.

Jimmy Butler.

On eyetest, i find him to be a good individual defender. He can stay with his man. But it just seems that his man always kills him.

NBA had been posting daily player highlights. Today was Kemba. And I saw that game when Kemba dropped like 60 on Jimmy. And it got me thinking.

Remember also against the Raps series where Jimmy looked like a liability on defense against Kawhi that we stop letting him defend Kawhi?

Then I was wondering what lead to this. Then yeah, I remember how he has a short wingspan. He can stay in front of his man but he is not good in challenging those shots

Most teams believe that they dont have to go on full rebuild. Specially when they have things going their way.

I think Jimmy's a bit overrated defensively based on reputation, but is still good on that end.

Our pick and roll defensive scheme killed us against Kemba no matter who was covering him.

Jimmy doesn't have enough length to bother Kawhi, but nobody was bothering him I'm in that series. The guy was playing at a GOAT level in that series. Ben was playing amazing defense on him and it just didn't matter.

To keep things in perspective, even mere "very good" offense crushes "great" defense all the time.

Whoa, Marc Eversley hired as Chicago’s new GM.

How many of Colangelo's goons are left? Cohen and Rucker?

Random musing: I can't believe the Nuggets traded Vanderbilt to the T'Wolves. He's a good head coach away from being a playoff team's Rodman. He started to put it all together towards the end of his G-League season with a stretch of 14 rpg. I wish we could pluck him from the T'Wolves.

If coach Brown can keep his job. How long before we start saying yest he comes from the coaching tree of brown. You sit on his bench you get a job as an executive or a head coach. Crazy. :D
The Accession of Paul Reed is upon us !

You want it to be one way....but it's the other way.

Yes because fans don’t see things as guys who run basketball teams do.

Brett is not an all time great coach but he’s one of the better coaches out there.

The roster he was given is really just hard to deal with, on and off the court.

For instance Jimmy wanted to run PnR. Yeah, there’s an angle that it sound the right thing. But then what would be Ben’s position when Jimmy will be running it? How do you find Biid as a roll man?

Like Jj said, he has high praise for Brett and would want to play for him again

Lloyd Pierce has struggled to get things going in Atlanta. They're playing even worse basketball this year than they did in year one. I wouldn't be surprised if his seat starts to warm up.

I'm pretty unfamiliar with Ime Udoka's abilities as a coach.

Just remembered that Diaw defended KD in the OKC series
